Valrhona

As this bar only contains 66% cocoa solids, it isn't the most intense bar out there, but it does pack in some flavours. The bar is made using cocoa beans from Ecuador, on the Equator in fact (which is a dream area for cacao). I found the bar to be fruity, a bit like Venezualen Chuao but not as intense, and slightly woody. There was a slight hint of jasmine, but it was very low in the mix. It also melts in the mouth, due to the higher cocoa butter content. I'd definitely recommend this to someone who's starting out on dark chocolate, but wants a challenge when it comes to tasting.

I would give this bar 7/10

Available at:
Chocolate Trading Co. - £3.45

Yeah, gotta love Valrhona they're all so interesting even if you don't like them they're still worth trying.
My faves (probably due an upbringing of dairy milk :) ) are still jivara lait and (my recently discovered new fave) tanariva

I'm yet to try all the Valrhona varieties, but they are definitely interesting.
