The Saddest Celebrity Death Of The Year
« on: November 22, 2009, 01:17:16 am »
i know i'm a few days late, but i just wanted to pay my forum respects to the legend that was mr. edward woodward. i loved him in 'the wicker man' and 'the equalizer' (amongst other things) and i'll miss him far more than michael jackson. (and seeing as mikey got his own thread, i felt it only right to post this.) R.I.P., eddie. :(

My first memory of Edward Woodward was in 'Callan'.  It's over forty years ago now. My dad hired a TV after my mum's death (she would not have one in the house). I think it was on a Saturday night, and dad wasn't very good at getting me into bed at a reasonable time (I was 10 at the time). He used to watch 'Callan' with my married sister and brother-in-law. I can remember the opening sequences with the swinging lightbulb and that creepy music. It was a very menacing programme and I remember the fear rising inside me but I couldn't not watch it!
Old but spicey!

Yup, I remember Callan.  I couldn't believe it when I heard he'd died.  RIP, mate!

I don't think Eddie dying was sadder than Stephen Gately.

Stephen who?  Edward Woodward eclipses that guy tenfold!
