Price of sweets
« on: October 04, 2008, 11:35:19 pm »
Is it just me or is the prices a joke???

I can remember when you can buy a sweet for 25p or 30p then it started to go up and up and up

Kit kats are now 45p!

New wispes are no between 50p - 60p!!!

can you still buy anything at 40p?

Cadbury's Freddo, Chomp bars etc have all gone up to 15p from 10p. They were 10p for years!
But You can buy Wispas at Home Bargains for 36p. All the chocolate seems to be cheap there.
And the Crisps - Walkers Lamb Curry flavour (yes you read the flavour right!) 15p. Other Walkers 10p.

Farmfoods can still sell you reasonably priced chocolate from other European countries rather than here. All Poppets are 20p.

Combination of inflation and 'rip off britain syndrome' i'm afraid. Prices go up or products get smaller (or worse both :( )
At least we still have a reasonable variety of products to choose from and we're beginning to see more 'quality' over 'quantity' products appearing on the market.

The new advert's far superior, even though they didn't return to the old Dorset location.

Still maintain you just need to shop "canny" for your chocolate and sweets.

It all depends what you want. I buy most of my choc from places like Home Bargains or the Big Apple who do good deals - but because these shops stock what they can get, you can't rely they'll have a certain bar. If I want something specific or to try something new I usually have to pay full price.
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

At least 40.
I bought 4 dark Bountys for £1 today. The milk ones were the same price.
