Killer fry up
« on: August 26, 2008, 12:19:48 am »
THE Great British fry-up could be the death of you after research showed that it can cause cancer.
People who tuck into the nation’s favourite breakfast every day have a 63% higher chance of developing bowel cancer. This is because the processed meat content in a fry-up, including  sausage and black pudding, has been linked to the disease.
The typical full English – complete with fried eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes – can contain around 700 calories.
And extras such as black pudding and fried bread can push the calorie content even higher.
Saturated fat is also known to contribute to the risk of heart disease and processed meat is linked to obesity.

I am worried that there may be people who do eat this every day. I feel sick at the thought.

Everyone in Coronation Street has a cooked breakfast everyday. They then go and have kebabs or fish and chips for dinner. Either that or they gor to Roy's for another all day breakfast. I've yet to see anyone eat a piece of fruit.
Old but spicey!

It's the same in Eastenders - yet the Beales' fruit 'n' veg stall has been thriving for 23 years! Who buys it all?

Unfortunately I'm certain there are people who eat this every day. Even if there wasn't a cancer risk, it's surely a heart attack waiting to happen.

Everything gives you cancer, even breathing air.

Some pollutives are carcinogenic but clean air cannot give you cancer.  I take it, this is a polemical attack on the perceived wisdom of healthy eating.  Eating large quantities of saturated fats and hence trans-fatty acids is bad for you.  Eating plenty of fruit and veg is not.

A pesticide (or two) a day, keeps you far from health(ay)
