Rats
« on: July 13, 2008, 08:51:20 pm »
There's a rat infestation in north shields fish quay.  They are the size of kittens. They are everywhere and the fish shop  had to throw away his delivery of potatoes last week costing him £500. He is sueing the council as they had been told about the rat problem last year and done nothing about it. Last week rentokil were parked outside of the fish shop for 4 days and people were still going in and buying food.

It is a problem the world over. There are more rats than humans on the planet. Wherever man lives they quickly follow.
If people stopped to think of the waste that they throw away then maybe it might help a little.
It is often quoted that if you live in a major conurbation then you are never more than 2 feet away from a rat.

Just a thought...

I think the chip shop needs to take some responsibility for the customers who throw food on the ground for the seagulls and don't put their rubbish in the bins.

Yes. they need to employ litter patrols.

People should take a pride in their own standards.

I got on a bus the other day and had to wade through the Greggs bags and chocolate wrappers.

About a year ago, I was walking to work when a rat came out of a shop front and trotted along beside me about a foot away from my feet. he seemed startled when he finally spotted me and dived down a path into a kind of field. I was a tiny bit scared in case he decided to attack my feet (I was bitten by a rat years and years ago and had to have a series of nasty injections) but at the same time I was intrigued. They are intelligent animals.
Old but spicey!

Indeed, but not all rats are diseased.  Some live in a nice clean river with lots of fresh green shoots to nibble at.

Indeed.  I was expecting someone nice, but I was completely blown away by how lovely she is.
