I worked late doing teaching observations. My husband picked me up from work at 7.15 and took me for a meal so we didn't have to stay in and hide behind the settee with the lights off!

I don't mind neighbours' kids and family coming to trick or treat but I won't give to strangers.
Old but spicey!

Yes. It never fails to amaze me how adults will bring their children to your door. The fact that you have never met them in your life completely passes them by somehow.

Although I don't personally give to trick or treaters, I'm not too bothered about kids dressing up and getting a few sweets off their neighbours - people their parents know and trust. It's the fact that older kids think it's an excuse to demand money off you that bugs me.

I don't mind giving sweets to kids on Halloween at all.  In fact, most years I make goodie bags for any kids who may come to the door.  I dress up my kids and let them answer the door and scare 'trick or treaters' on the other side.  It's all good fun. LOL

The only thing that has annoyed me in the past is when you get older kids come to the door who are barely dressed up and clearly are only interested in money.  They can get lost as far as I'm concerned.Angry

Luckily where I live now you need a code to get into the building, so I don't get the teenage chavs coming begging - although I got called a Scrooge last year for even suggesting I wouldn't give to trick or treaters!

Not at all...it's meant to be a bit of fun and if somebody doesn't want to participate it shouldn't be an issue.

We luckily haven't had too many chavvy teens come-a-knocking the past few years.  Those that do get a bag of Jelly Tots, Fruit Pastilles etc like everyone else LOL

I'm 28 and I'd still be happy with a bag of Jelly Tots! LOL

Next year I will inject rat poison into milky ways for all the kids i haven't seen before and that will teach kids not to take sweets from strangers.
