Nuisance emails
« on: June 28, 2007, 06:01:40 pm »
I used to be with NTL and they have been taken over by Virgin. Since the take-over, I can no longer use Outlook as my email software. I have to receive emails via Virgin Media. It is a totally cr*p service and for the past three weeks we have been getting upto five scam emails per day telling us we've won a lottery/been selected for an oline prize/been left money in a will or asking us to help a dying prince/nun/deposed duke retreive money from a secret bank account containing millions, offering to cut us in.

How can I prevent these emails?  I never recieved any via Outlook so is it something to do with Virgin Media having less efficient screening? Can anyone help??

I can;t use outlook neither since you have to pay for the service now ( unless you got in before charge appeared)

I am with Virgin (previously NTL) and can honestly say I've NEVER had an email of this kind.  Have you got decent anti-spam software?  The only thing I'm not happy about with Virgin is that they've started charging for their helpline which was free with NTL.
