How is everyone coping with this terrible weather we've been having? We have had so much rain here for so many weeks some of the locals have started quacking.  As I write, the sky outside is dark grey and rain has started to hammer down again. We had 10 hours of very heavy rain yesterday. Luckily, although the land for miles around is very flat, we have not hadany serious flooding.

It's been quite bad up your way though smurfy hasn't it?

It certainly is.  Our area more or less relies on good weather in the summer and it's been miserable (although no houses have actually been flooded).  I fear a major hike in Council Tax next year.

No matter who you speak to, this is the worst summer in living memory.  The flooding is on a par with the floods after the melt of winter 1947.

Having seen the news today I feel ashamed of myself for whingeing on about the tourist trade and council tax.  I can't imagine how awful it must be to be flooded out of your house with no drinking water etc like so many people have been.

Birmingham is okay, but Worcestershire was hit very badly a few weeks back, and now the South Midlands are being hit very badly - Tewksbury has practically shut down.

You all need to move up north. We are so high up we will never flood.

It's very hard for people when their homes are so badly damaged. i have friends in Pershore and they said they were practically cut off, although thankfully their home is OK.
