Blair to resign June 27th

I know a lot of people are disenchanted with him, but I think this is a sad day for our country. Tony Blair has been a great Prime Minister - by far the best in my lifetime. I just hope people give Brown a decent chance and don't vote the Tories in purely 'for a change'.

I agree with you Smurfboy. He was I think a good Prime Minister.

I don't remember many of them, so I can't compare him to any others but I have always thought him honest and truthful. A man who tried to do his best for the country.

I am not sure about Gordon Brown, but will give him a fair go.

Just really would not vote for the Conservatives if they were the only party in the running.

I have no political leanings whatsoever so I don't know who to vote for.  I think he has been a very good Prime Minister other than buggering up Iraq.  He has been a master of the middle way.  However it's just possible that Gordon Brown will be unpopular enough to tip wavering voters towards the Lib Dems.  That will give Conservatives a sniff but they've got too much ground to make up to get first past the post.  Either Labour will get in again or we will have a hung parliament.

With the exception of invading Iraq, I would say Tony Blair has been the best Prime Minister in my lifetime.  He has introduced many social reforms such as the minimum wage, Sure Start schemes, investment in Basic Skills Improvement and countless other things.
Old but spicey!
