Angelina Jolie has 'blacked up' to play a mixed race journalist in a biopic produced by her boyfriend, Brad Pitt. Not surprisingly, this is causing something of a stir in Hollywood.

What do you think - is this racially offensive, or is Jolie just an actress playing a part, changing her appearance to fit the role just as she would do by changing her hair colour, or losing or gaining weight?

I think there are thousands of talented, mixed race actresses who could have played the part instead.

The obvious choice - and the one mentioned in the article - is Halle Berry. Judy Reyes (Carla of Scrubs) was also suggested. I doubt Angelina Jolie would have even been considered if her boyfriend wasn't the producer.

I think it's just a title - I very much doubt he does the actual day to day work.

I think it's highly offensive and a mixed race actress should have been cast.
