Don't get me on the subject of the minimum wage.  It's totally killed the UK hotel industry.

So people should be expected to work for a pittance?


In my experience of UK hotels, most of them get round the minimum wage by employing illegal immigrants. Anything other than make a smaller profit.

Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

Yes that's exactly what they do so it defeats the object.  It's not a question of smaller profits - hotels simply can't afford to run as people aren't prepared to pay more to stay there.  It's cheaper for them to go abroad.  Therefore British hotels are being forced to close down or are becoming hostels for asylum seekers.
