Lindors @ Whittards
« on: September 19, 2006, 11:34:03 pm »

A while back it was reported that Whittards now stock large sections of the Lindt range. At the time all they had in their Brum stores were a few chocolate Easter bunnies. Anyhoo, I was in Leamington today and just happened to be passing Whittards so thought I'd have a squizz, and they had a Lindor pick and mix

They had the usual milk, white, dark and hazelnut, plus the new extra dark, but also mint and peanut butter, which I've previously only seen in America. Both are absolutely gorgeous, 10 out of 10 jobs. But the real biggie was this - there is now a raspberry Lindor.  Very dark chocolate (probably the same strength as extra dark) and a not too overpowering raspberry taste. I don't think I knew what love was until I tasted these chocolates. 11 out of 10.

Oooh  I may have to pop in.

Peanut butter sounds...well...weird. Rasberry and mint sound lush though.

It's smooth, no nutty bits.

On the back of peanut butter Kitkats, they describe the filling as peanut cream.

Perhaps there are certain ingredient levels you have to have before something can be described as peanut butter.

Personally I would describe peanut butter as containing peanuts and oil. I guess Nestle would obviously go down the cheap route and bulk it up with other ingredients.
