Did anyone read any of the books in Richard and Judy's book club this summer? I'm reading The Island at the moment and then I plan to tackle The Historian which when I just read the reviews of it claims it's a boring book and I'll be glad to get to the end.

If Richard and Judy like it I'm sure I won't.

Have you read 'The Secret Life of Bees' by Sue Monk Kidd? That's good.

I'm reading The Island too.  It's by Victoria Hislop (Ian's wife I think).

A long time ago at work an elderly lady couldn't remember this author's name and we eventually realised who she was talking about.  Maeve Binchy has forever afterwards been referred to as 'Purple Bitch'.

My mate read that, he said it gave him quite a buzz.
