Food allergies ’gone in 10 years’

[Food allergies could be virtually eradicated in 10 years, according to scientists at a major conference.


Experts at the BA Festival of Science, in Norwich, heard that vaccines could be created against the molecules which trigger allergies.

The scientist leading the research - Dr Ronald van Ree, from Amsterdam University - said a vaccine with no side effects was in sight. ]


Fantastic if it happens. I have my doubts though.


Not that I am professionally qualified to comment but take a look at the reactions of that drug being trialed earlier this year on those unfortunate people. It shows just how much we (the medical profession, that is) do not understand yet about the body's immune system.


I mean, come on, we could have achieved so many things in 10 years but why report on what is yet a long way off.


I think this is lazy journalism. A story for the sake of it.
