Towering Inferno? that's a classic!

The Towering Inferno was a hugely expensive film to make with many big (but fading) stars including Fred Astair, Jennifer Jones, Richard Chamberlaine, Steve McQueen (yum), Paul Newman (double yum)... oh I could go on and on. It also starred OJ Simpson.

It followed a typical American formula - someone creates something wonderful but its splendor is corrupted by a bad man trying to make a huge profit. Good man comes along and points out the corruption and rages against it but big business insist the show must go on. Disaster follows and good man has to save the day - but not without some costs so people can learn from good man's wisdom.

Old but spicey!
