Fruity Blue Ice Lollies
« on: May 04, 2006, 07:18:45 pm »
I have been reading all the chocolates and sweets that people love even though they are long gone. I loved the Mint Cracknel and spanish gold which I think you can still get along with Caramac bars, and although they are not sweets or choc there are two things I would love to still get ... Fruity Blue Lollies and Chipitoes. First one speaks for itself but Chipitoes were the for runner of wotsits which just dont taste the same at all ... oh and potato puffs... small little pillows puffed up and crispy ... hope its ok to mention other than sweets and chocs, I would just love to know why the head of supply change the things we love and replace them with cheap nasty tastless substitutes .....

I remember Chipitoes and Potato Puffs and both were wonderful. I think you can still get Potato Puffs in corner grocery shops. Chipitoes were much nicer than Wotsits.

One of the lollies I miss is Rossi's Rocket Lollies. They were triangular, deep red and had a lovely raspberry flavour. It was like a sorbet and the raspberry stuff came off on your tongue when you licked it.

Old but spicey!

I LOVED Fruity Blues!  But not as much as Lord Toffinghams.

There used to be a lolly like a mini milk that had been dipped in chocolate and then hundreds and thousands. I remember that it was discontinued around about 1980, a very sad time for me.

Does anyone remember Pizzaz ice lollies? They were fudge flavoured and were brightly coloured with a marble effect.

I remember Jolly Jellies and Hearts but not Merlin.  Then there was Yogurt Maid and Count Dracula.

I remember Yoghurt Maids but didn't like them. Count Draculas were Ok but you looked silly after eating one (especially if you were about 16!).

My most favourite lolly of all time is Pineapple Mivis, sadly long since gone.
