Has anyone been to one of these? The worst example (in my opinion) that I went to recently featured topiary swans on the lawn. Apparently the bride had always wanted swans on the lawn for her wedding but the Cathedral wouldn't allow it so they had topiary ones specially made.

I been to a wedding where a magician came round the tables performing tricks during the reception but I think that's more classed as tacky.

Yes that's quite passe now. Wedding cakes seem to feature profiteroles or mini pavlovas lately.

I've only ever been to traditional weddings - fruit wedding cake, buffet with vol au vents and potato salad, naff disco etc.

I want to go to a civil partnership - I bet you get some over-the-top moments at those.
