'Vertically challenged' = dwarf/midget

'Dimensionally challenged' = fat bastard

Reminds me of the personal ads - 'bubbly personality', meaning 'at least a Size 16'!

A lot of so-called PC directives are fiction. For instance - it's never been said that you can't use the term 'brainstorm' but people make up stories about directives that say you can't.

I think it's good that we no longer call people of colour by very offensive names and I am delighted we no longer use terms like deaf mute, cripple and spastic.

I can't believe people used to use terms like 'nigger in the woodpile' and not consider themselves racist.

I was showing a video clip of Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech to a class of mature students on Tuesday and I was embarrassed to hear the comentator repeatedly refer to him as a 'negro'. Even that sounded all wrong.

I still used to say 'half-caste' at one time; it hadn't been considered offensive when I was young.

I used to call poeple of mixed rate that. But since dating a black guy I have learnt the correct way is mixed race.

I don't get how black people can refer to themselves as nigger but white people can't.

Even the phrase mixed race is considered un-PC by some now - 'bi-racial' is the latest buzzword. Personally I think that is more offensiveas it assumes someone mixed race is only a mix of two.

I think mioxed race is a good way to prefer to people who are, indeed of mixed race.

How does race work? I mean is it divided into black, Asian, Jewish, Arab and whites? Surely some people are both white and Jewish or black and Jewish?

Is a European but non-British white person a different race from me? I

I don't get it.
