Marmite Bar
« on: October 21, 2004, 03:44:18 pm »
Marmite is dark brown-colored savory spread made from the yeast that is a by-product of the brewing industry. It has a very strong, slightly salty flavor. It is definitely a love-it-or-hate-it type of food and A Snickers is a chocolate bar containing chocolate, nougart, roasted peanuts and caramel. Now On there own there both quite nice but when you dunk your snickers in your marmite the results are truly horiffic as i have just discovered

People who like Marmite should be locked up so us normal people can live in a Marmite free zone.

I'm not much of a jam eater but will buy strawberry jam today and have it tomorrow with my marmite. I have had jam and philadelphia before and that was nice.

Does anyone remember the episode of The Vicar of Dibley when that batty old woman was handing out dark coloured cake and Dawn French took a slice and said "oh lovely, chocolate cake!". The batty old woman replied "No, Marmite".

She was always baking revolting things. She once announced she was saving snails for her new recipe. When asked what it was she said "bread and butter pudding surprise" !!!!!!

Old but spicey!

Letitia was my hero!  What was that recipe that contained 'just a hint of taramasalata' (sorry, can't spell that - you know what I mean!).
