The Blue Boy started it,not me.
My original post was entirely appropriate and topical.
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.
If he is not on a sufficiently high intellectual plain to understand the topic or
contribute in a constructive manner, then he should stick to his Smurfland
dot-to-dot books

Here is a link to a Cash and Carry Group in England who have outlets
scattered all over the country. You may have to cut and paste it into your
browser.

http://www.booker.co.uk/product-range.asp

You can download their product list.
All of the items on your list which they stock are obviously still available.
Any that are not are probably discontinued because they carry an extensive
range and the outlets are used by shopkeepers.
I hope this helps.

Thanks Kevvosa.
You only have to read the link from Snackshot to understand the strong
consumer opinion against Maynards sweets.
Get your votes in folks!

Errrrrrrrrrrrrr,Smurfboy...................who said that Lions was going to
collapse? It wasn't. You are mistaken. If you'd taken the time to consult
your wise father,Papa Smurf,he would have told you that Cadbury Treebor
Basset purchased Lions as a going concern, whilst it was still trading
successfully. This was an aquisition of a heathy and prosperous company
and NOT a distressed business. There was no consideration of abolishing
the brands which attracted Cadbury to purchase the company.Nor were
there any job losses, because Emloyees contracts are automatically taken
over by the purchaser in these circumstances. So it's back to Smurf School
for you.And don't eat those Maynards Midget Gems whilst you're doing
your homework, because they're full of e- numbers and gelatine and will
damage your brain.

So why shouldn't they have bought it? Who exactly did you want to stop
them from buying it?

Employee contracts 'automatically taken over'? I doubt it. And in any
case, I said there would have been job losses if the company had
collapsed.

Again, you have sadly missed the point.
There is no problem whatsoever with Cadburys aquiring Lions. Also,I am
indeferent as to the identity of the purchaser.
It's a free market economy and it's up to the purchaser and vendor if they
wish to agree a 'buy out'.
It is simply irritating that in buying the Company,Cadburys have decided
to roll Lions and Maynards into one, thereby effectively aboilshing Lions'
two most successful and loved products,Midget Gems and Sports Mixture.
I personally don't like Maynards' sweets. But whereas before the consumer
had a choice between the two,now Maynards is the only single option and
I think many would agree that their alternatives are just not as good.
It is akin to Heinz purchasing HP and Daddies and abolishing HP Sauce so
that they can cut cost and make more profit by just selling Daddies, with
the consumers' views going out of the window.
If they wanted to abolish Lions products, they should not have bought the
Company,full stop.
You may not be a fan of Lions' products but many people are, hence the
poll instigated by 'the pink sugarmouse'.I also support the comments
about Aero Bars,Toffee Crisp etc. made above. We are losing consumer
choice in society at the behest of greedy fat cats. Our world famous
products like Crunchie and Chocolate Buttons will be extinct next.
And by the way, when you get back to Smurfland, you may wish to read
this link to the Government website which explains the Transfer of
Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations, before you go
spouting off about something you clearly know nothing about, you silly
little blue man.
But I wouldn't recommend that any others in the Forum read them unless
you're stuggling to get to sleep tonight, because they are completely
'drop-dead' boring.

It's outrageous!

Lions who make midget gems and sports mixture have been bought out
by Maynards. Maynards are owned by Cadbury Treebor Basset and
Maynards have dropped the Lions brand.

Previously, the flavour of all Lions' black midget gems and sports mixture
were liquorice and always had been. But  Maynards' black midget gems
and sports mixture are blackcurrant and not liquorice. Also, the fruity
flavours have changed into Maynards' soft and synthetically tasting
gums, presumably so some overstuffed Directors and shareholders can
make more money for less effort.

These sweets are part of our heritage

How dare Maynards purchase Lions and then immediately kill off their two
best products.

It's sacrilege.

It's like someone buying Christmas and getting rid of Santa.

It just shouldn't be allowed!

If you feel as strongly and upset as me,please fill in the petition on this
link.
