Is anyone else plagued by these? I get at least six per week and that's when I am at home to answer them. I am sure there would probably be more when I'm out at work.
I know it's companies that dial a large number of phone numbers automatically but I really don't think this should be allowed. Some people (like my brother who has severely restricted mobility) will struggle to get to the phone, only to find no one on the other end.
The other thing I hate is calls from automated messages. They infuriate me! If I am going to get 'cold call' invasions into my privacy, I at least want to be able to scream 'GO AWAY and DON'T CALL ME AGAIN' (or words to that effect!!) at the caller.
Oh dear! Do I sound like a Grumpy Old Woman??

I hate those calls aswell, you are total right to scream at them, if im in a certain mood will just lie to them about stuff including Im a brain doctor for the queen etc, you get a good laugh
-
I get shed loads of automated ones, but silent ones are rare for me.
-
I've had a few of those - they just auto-dial as many numbers as they can and go to whoever answers first. It drives me mad; I'd just ignore numbers I didn't recognise, but I'm job-hunting at the moment so can't afford to take the risk of not answering a potentially important call :(

I always ignore calls on my mobile if I don't recognise the number, but I can't do that on my land line. Hardly anyone has my mobile number and when it rings, it's almost always a phone pest because family and friends are much more likely to text me. Phone pests must get frustrated with me because some companies call me 10 times a week and I never answer!

My phone rings about 10 times a DAY, I just let it ring.

Remember in the 80's when the phone rang everyone in the house ran to answer it? Well, 25 years later and it's quite the opposite now...
-
That is so true!
but of course everyone was hopping it was for them.
-
I never use my landline phone, and it hardly ever rings.
It was out of order for 3 weeks last month and we never even noticed. In fact we had no idea it was even broken until we got an email to tell us it had been fixed. lol

I'm quite the other way... never use my mobile but always use the landline. I need to join the new millennium, methinks.
