well, it's almost december again... and i feel about as christmasy as a jehovas witness in june. just can't seem to get into the spirit this year for some reason. i'm forcing myself to watch the colourised version of 'It's A Wonderful Life' tonight in an attempt to ignite the yule log in my soul. if that doesn't work then it's time to worry. anyone got any ideas?
so - how's everyone spending their festive time this year?
-
I am too busy preparing for an Ofsted visit. They are coming during the last week of term.
I did some Christmas shopping on Sunday. Instead of staying in Peterborough, we drove a little way up the A1 to Stamford, a beautiful little town with many Georgian buildings and little cobbled streets and courts. It's been filmed many times for TV programmes such as Middlemarch. It felt much more Christmassey, walking down cobbled lanes, surrounded by graceful stone buildings instead of battling through the horrible shopping centre in Peterborough.
-
that sounds lovely! however, i am ashamed to say that i have done more than 99% of my shopping online this year.
-
Well I shall wait a few more weeks before I get into full swing but 25 songs of XMAS, in no order!
Today choice to get the ball rolling...
Eurythmics - Winter Wonderland (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xVLeW9UmjE#)
-
This Christmas song often gets forgotten, but I think it's lovely:
Gilbert O'Sullivan - The Christmas Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0Vnof9-gJM#)
-
I was not in the christmas mood until I had a morning of internet shopping where I brought all of my Christmas at a bargain price
-
I can't get excited about Christmas until about a week before the day now, purely because of what it does to my workload (and therefore quality of life). When you're spending most of your life worrying about other peoples' Christmas shopping it's hard to get that excited about your own!
-
mr. buble's xmas cd has helped a bit. and looking at the boxes of decs now is making me tingle ever so slightly.

I only have one reaction to that Wham! song. HATE, HATE, HATE!!!!!!!
Today I have put up my Christmas tree, decorated the living room with pine cones, twigs and greenery and wrapped some presents to put round the tree. I am doing all this a week early this year as, tomorrow, Ofsted is coming to inspect my college and I don't know what kind of shape I will be in next weekend!
It all looks so cosy.
-
i guess i should get these ceiling decs up. everything else is done.
-
I only have one reaction to that Wham! song. HATE, HATE, HATE!!!!!!!
I'm shocked and appalled.
That said, it did make me laugh as it reminded me of Sharon's reaction to it in 'The Smoking Room'. 'So what happens? Is it about a transplant? Does the patient not survive?'
-
lol@ transplant.

Just like every year, we're going to celebrate it in a traditional way where in we'll go in our ancestral house and have our mini-reunion there. Catch things up with our relatives, prepare foods then start the party.
-
enjoyed mr. buble this evening.
-
I don't know what it is about him, but I just can't take to Michael Buble.
-
he's like marmite.
-
I can't take to him either. I like good singers - lots of them - but he's just so incipid.
-
he's a smarmy little b***ard, but you gotta love that voice.
