Since being married I have gained quite a bit of weight. I would like to share my progress with you so I am more likely to stay on track.
Week 1: -1lb
Week 2: STS
Week 3: -2lbs
Week 4 weigh in is tomorrow night so I will be reporting back. xx
-
Good luck with the weight loss. I am heavier now than I've ever been and would like to shed a bit for health reasons but don't fancy doing so in the winter. Hope it all goes well for you! You're doing really well so far!
-
are you using weight watchers or slimming world or anything? how much do you intend to lose? keep up the good work!
-
I am doing weight watchers. The new propoints plan is very good.
-
my gf is on slimming world. i read through the 'rules' recently... damn confusing stuff!
-
I've heard slimming world is confusing
With WW you can eat what you want as long as you are within your points allowence. I love it!
-
that sounds much simpler. slimming world really confused me with all its free foods, syns and super free foods. and it contradicts itself all the time.
-
I lost 2 and half Stone in 6 months by Riding my bike more and cutting back and also Detoxing once a week ( that really only happened when I stayed over at a mates and forgot to eat)
-
Low carb is the way to go!
-
Lost 1.5lbs last night - total is now 4.5lbs. Really pleased
I like WW because you can eat anything. I can't do these diets where you have tocut things out. I low carb works but I just like to know that I am not restrcted.
A girl last night who is training to be a leader has lost 7 stone. She looks like a different person
-
i really need to go on some kind of diet but i'm seriously lacking motivation at the moment.
-
I did at first but after 2 weeks I was into the swing of it and was fine. Still going strong now
-
you'd think i'd be super-fit, what with all those trips to the fridge i make every 10 minutes.
-
Ha ha! We have just moved and the walk to the station is longer so I have made more of an effort to get more out of the walk by power walking. I can certainly feel it in my bum.
Watch this space for how much I lose necxt week. I am 2.5lbs away from my silver 7 but I don't think I will lose that much.
-
i've been bopping away to Just Dance on the kids wii for the last week. damn, that's good exercise! maybe i'll try this for a while.
-
I make the most of my walking cos I just don't get time for anything else. By the time I get in am knackered!
-
I have tried every diet under the sun with no luck until recently when i decided to calorie count and walk 4 miles 5 days a week. I have dropped a dress size and 3 bra sizes and my feet have gone back to a size 3. Not really sure how that happened but i feel so much fitter and healthier. I even eat more than i used to . I cut out cakes and biscuits and butter but i'm still having crisps and chocolate at weekends. The only bad thing i'd say is i've got into a routine of eating the same stuff all the time . I don't understand the carbs and protein stuff so any input would be appreciated. My typical daily meals are :
Breakfast : 3 weetabix and a yogurt or 3 slices toast with marmite or jam , no butter
Lunch : 2 pitta bread with tuna and salad and a piece of fruit
Dinner : Chicken or Salmon with veg

Lou - I did that very same thing three years ago and lost three stones between April and September. I kept the weight off foir years too. The only reason it has crept back on is because my job does not allow me the time to go swiming and walking as much as I used to and sometimes I do not eat all day except for grabbing a cereal bar to stave off the sugar cravings when my blood sugar gets too low. I know I have a couple of stone to shift - and it is more difficult now because of my age. However, calorie counting is the only way I know of really getting the weight off. I also think a diet high in carbs and low in fat works best.
Well done for doing so well - and you too Chocolate Chick!
-
No no no, high fat (but the right fats) and low carbs. Bread, cereals and pasta are the devil's food!
-
Everyone has a different plan that works for them.
I like the new WW plan because you can have anything you want. I eat sensibly everyday. I get my 5 a day and 3 dairy portions and I am hardly ever starving.
My boss on the other hand just cuts things out. I can't litterally cut something out - that just does not work for me.
I think it's all about finding the plan which works for you.
-
Pleased to report that I lost 2.5lbs last night and got my first silver 7. Over the moon with myself x
-
:) very well done! ;D
-
Why thank you. Still a way to go but it's all in the right direction
-
indeedly! that's the spirit!
-
Mines more of a lifestyle change than a diet. I've spent too long sitting at a desk and not exercising . The weight is dropping off now with the walking and i'm managing 4 miles 5 times a week now. I always have 2 nights where i don't walk. I haven't eaten three meals a day in years. My skin is clearer and I'm not getting out of breath like i was. I actually think if i just continued the way i was going i would have had a coronary.
-
I am the same - this is a life style change not just a diet.
What I am doing is working for me and I do not feel like I am missing out on a thing.
I have up'ed my exercise without really changing anything. Where we live now is further from the train station so on average I am walking 6 - 7 miles a day once it's all added up. I wear my pedometer so I can track how many steps I am doing.
-
i need a lifestyle change in order to lose weight... diets just aren't enough on there own (for me, anyway.) i found i was literally having zero energy by just eating processed food and fast food all the time. i felt just awful. but a few weeks of cooking everything from fresh i found there is a big difference in my energy levels. just need to use some this this extra nenergy and actually get more active now. i'm a lazy bugger.
-
I really want to lose 1.5lbs tonight so I can achieve my 5% goal.
I cook pretty much all my meals from scratch and once you get used to the extra preparation time it's fine. We made BBQ whiskey marinated steaks over the weekend and they were to die for. Much better than anything out of the microwave!
Since starting WW and eating the right things I have been full of energy and not tired during the day. When I was just eating junk I felt like I could nod off at any moment
-
PLeased to report that I lost 1.5lbs this week meaning I got my little 5% sticker!
That's 8.5lbs in 6 weeks and I am over the moon!
-
Fantastic! Well done CC!
-
well done!
-
Merci!
-
one thing that is helping me in my healthy eating regime is my slow cooker. i bought it last week and i freakin' love it! just throw in whatever and forget about it for half the day, then at dinner time - bingo! - a pot full of healthy goodness.
-
What's helping me is the fact that I really like cooking and I make sure all the meals we have are really nice. I get most of my recipes from the good food magazine and just adjust them slightly so they are more healthier
-
rule 1 of dieting - be sure that you only ever eat food you are passionate about.
-
I've realised i havent used my microwave for ages so i threw it out. wjp you are so right about the slow cooker as i am not much of a cook but like choc chick i am cooking from scratch now so eating loads more veg and the slow cooker is perfect for me. It is silly but for me just eating a breakfast then a lunch makes me not want my dinner til 5.30-6.00 and then i don't eat the rest of the night, whereas before i would skip breakfast and lunch and then want dinner (tea up north ) at 4.30 then snack all night on rubbish. I'm a bit freaked out how much energy i have and my skin is brighter and i realise i must have been so very unhealthy before. The weight is definitely harder to shift when you are older but walking is helping enormously.
-
as i speak i have a pumpkin, pork and apple based concoction simmering away in the slow cooker. should be ready in 30 mins. mmm.
-
Oh that sounds nice - I will be round about 5.30pm. Ha ha
I am seven weeks in on my plan and I agree with the energy thing. I was always falling alseep on the train and now I read all the way home.
Trousers are on the stupidly big side now. I am going to pop into asda living tonight for the next size down. My current ones are flapping about all over the place.
-
i bought a big pumpkin last week for specific slow cooking purposes (the first time i've actually bought one for cooking, not carving.) it's a very versatile vegetableand goes nice with everything. shame i wont be able to buy another one til next october.
and keep up the good work, cc. i know how hard it is to diet/lose weight and it's nice to see you succeeding so well.
-
Thanks a lot. I couldn't make WI last week so I am looking forward to seeing the scales tonight!
-
WI on Wdnesday and I have lost another 3lbs.
I am only 2.5lbs from my stone now! I have been trying to do extra walking this week to try and achieve it
-
you keep going, girl! i bet you'll make the stone by next week.
-
I am really hoping I do the stone but you never can tell. I have stayed on track every week so far and it's varied from stay the same up to 3lbs. So if not tomorrow - next week for sure!
-
have you tried one of these on your diet, cc?

I only lost a half a pound. I am a bit disappointed but I have to remember that I am not on the Biggest Loser. I am only a slightly overweight short girl!
So - 2lbs away from my first stone!
You are gonna have to do a lot of bopping if you want to lost those McGang things that you have been eating
-
hey, half a pound is still half a pound. very well done to you.
unlike you i have shedloads to lose. i just lack motivation atm, especially with the mcgangbang currently ruling my life.
-
Woo hoo!
I now have a total weight loss of 17lbs! I am over the moon. I am so happy about that
-
wow! that's a load! now go an celebrate with a stick of celery.
-
Thanks! I am so pleased. I am really focused with it all that the moment.
-
ah, focus. if only i had some these days.
-
Watch this space
-
I think i've gained some weight the past few weeks. I haven't walked and ive been eating irregularly and all the wrong stuff. I'll get back on track from tomorrow.
-
i presume everyone here will be 'cheating' over xmas?
-
I am now up to 19lbs lost having achieved my 10% last week. I am hoping for a 2lb loss tonight to get my 3rd silver 7 and a 21lb lose.
I will let you know
-
WOW! well done you! my dieting went a little weird over xmas. i'm currently plus what i was in early december. oh well.
-

That's fantastic CC, well done!
-
Thanks guys and girls. I lost 1.5lbs last night so I am up to 20.5lbs lost now :)
-
keep us posted, cc... i'm hoping your success stories will motivate me eventually. i am at a very high risk of exploding any day now.
when you get to your target weight are you going to post before and after pictures? ;-)
-
Of course I will. I am going to take a weight loss picture at 21lbs so I can compare with my start picture.
-
every january i take a 'before' picture of myself... my diet normally lasts for a few months before i give up. then by next january i'm taking another 'before' picture and it's even bigger than the previous one. i've been doing this since 2005. i've actually put them in order on my computer and flicked through them the other day... i look like i'm gradually inflating in some kind of weird flick-book animation!
-
Well it's still only February so you have a good 10 months to get the Jan 2013 picture looking good!
-
indeed. we shall see what 2012 brings. i plan on being more active this year so that can only help. but then again the olympics are coming to town later this year so i was planning on not leaving the house 'til all the fuss had died down. (which, lets face it, could be months.) oh, the dilemma!
-
You just need to find something that works for you. And you gotta want to do it.
I am quite looking forward to the olympics - just hope London can cope!
-
it's weymouth i'm worried about. we have traffic problems on the best of days, let alone with all these sailing types mooching about.
-
Ha ha! It's the trains I am worried about. I come into Charing Cross every day and walk past Trafalgar Square!
They are planning things every day in Hyde Park like music concerts etc. London is going to be over populated I think
-
been seriously thinking about moving in with my mum for the summer to get away from it all. (she lives in fuerteventura. should be safe there.)
-
been seriously thinking about moving in with my mum for the summer to get away from it all. (she lives in fuerteventura. should be safe there.)
Well if you do that I shouldn't think you'd have any trouble letting your house out - I can't decide whether it's worth popping down the road or not
-
we rent from an association, and they're threatening jail now with people who rent out for the olympics. plus, i wouldn't trust anyone in here... they might steal all the easter eggs i'm hoarding!
-
Well after a good few weeks of non counting and chocolate eating I went back to WW last night and was shocked to see I had lost half a pound. Making my weight lose 21lbs! The leader has asked me to be a weigher as from next week because she says I am very enthusiastic and chatty!
-
WOW! you go girl! i must admit i've been going the way of the salad this last week or so. i always find i lose close to a stone in the first 10 days and then it freezes... then willpower and determination dwindles.
plus, just eaten some chocolate Philidelphia - that stuff is evil and needs punishing!
-
I am really pleased. Still want to lose about another stone and a half but I do feel a whole lot more comfortable than I did.
Talking of salads - I have the chicken caesar salad in nando's on tuesday night and it was delicious!
-
Well after week off and then a week back on I am now up to 22lbs lost!
I have been asked to help out on the little shop in my meeting so that has given my motivation a boost!
-
wow, that's over a stone and a half. well done you!
-
Slowly but surely getting there!
-
Well after Easter weekend and eating 1 egg I am pleased to report a 2lb weight loss. Total now 24lbs.....
-
good god! you lost weight over easter? that's not right!
-
Yep I totally did! I had 2 roast dinners, 1 easter egg and the kit kat that came with it!! Slightly shocked myself to be honest. People are really noticing now :) x
-
Well done CC. That's fantastic!
-
Thanks Oldspice x
-
Got my 25lbs off last night! :)
-
:)very well done to you! :)
-
Thank you - it's a long old slog but I am getting there. I have loads of confidence again now. The husband feels like he has a new wife
-
Well done. I'm so ashamed! I'm heavier than I've ever been!
-
me too!
-
I was before I started WW. I am still a good 2 stone from where I want to be but I am heading in the right direction.
Not expecting much tonight as I haven't been tracking properly, have had nights out etc. Roll on tomorrow!
