Title: Has the world gone mad?

I've just got back from Sainsburys. We went to get some cakes for some unexpected visitors. Whilst there - I bought some stainless steel salad serving spoons as I had been searchiong for some all over town.

When I got to the till the checkout assistant said she had to call someone to authorise the purchase of the salad servers because they were cutlery and anyone buying cutlery 'has to be over 25 and I am not authorised to judge whether you are'.  I was stunned. I'm 53. She rang her bell and over came a lad of 19 who used to be in my English class a couple of years ago. He authorised the purchase!

What harm can anyone do with a couple of salad servers? And how can anyone not be able to authorise a purchase when the buyer is clearly twice as old as the required age??

i had a similar experince last year when buying a bag of plastic disposable picnic spoons at asda. madness!

Has anyone else got one of the salons in their town/city where you go and put your feet in a tank of water and tiny fish eat your feet?

I telling you - the world has gone completely insane.

lol - WE HAVE TWO OF THEM IN WEYMOUTH! garra rufa fish tanks... i am tempted to give it a go. i've heard it's quite an odd experience.

Urgh sticking your feet in a tank with other peoples dead veruccas and corns and them fishes have pood and weeeed in there.

But at the swimming pool don't you have to walk through some sort of dettol ? I can't swim so haven't been to a pool in a lot of years but i remember disinfecting our feet at school.

yes, that's true. there was always that little dettol pool you walked through and got dripped on.
