I wish to ask if any of you good people have tried any of the doughnuts from this company/shop? alas there not come north yet, but like Wiko I dare say there will be here soon.
-
i started a thread like this a couple of years ago when i first tried them. as i said then, they were nice, but not that nice. very sickly very quickly. you can literally hear your teeth pleading for mercy as you chomp them down. certainly not worth the insane price tesco charged me for a box of 12.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts (or is that donuts?) are the work of Satan and all his little wizards! These things shouldn't even be called doughnuts and there should be an EU law to stop them. I tried one and that was enough for me. I prefer the regular kind as found in a bakery/cake shop, preferably filled with apple or jam.
-
Totally agree with drterror - couldn't have put it better myself
-
ooooooooooh, they're not that bad.
-
Yes, they are. I'll put it to you this way. There are two doughnuts in the shop. One is a glazed Krispy Kreme monstrosity and the other has come out of the fryer for a few minutes, has been rolled in some sugar and is fresh, warm and oozing with jam/apple.
Which one would you pick?
I'm hungry now...
-
I love Krispy Kremes.
-
only 2 donuts in a shop? what sort of bakery is that?! i don't think they're gonna pull much of a profit with those work ethics.
-
No, there are loads of doughnuts in the shop, but those two are on the counter for you to choose one.
This is going to get silly now, isn't it?
-
INDEED! why am i reduced to choosing from just two cakes? is this some kind of prejudice against 'tubbies'? i want a mr. blobby cake and i aint leaving 'til i get one! grr!
-
I love Krispy Kreme, but I can see where my pin headed colleague is coming from. First tried them in the USA in 2004, for some reason they don't seem as good over here (probably more to do with being on holiday than being made differently over here).
They are very pricey for what they are though.
-
i've heard from multiple sources now that they taste better in the US.
-
No doubt full of lovely tasting additives that would never be considered safe enough for E number status :P

I think I'm going dyslexic. I just read that as 'multiple sclerosis' :/
-
LOL!

That's what Krispy Kreme doughnuts do to your brain!

Having said that I love Krispy Kremes, I will say that the Glamour special edition variety is pretty horrible. I'm not even sure what the glitter-threaded shocking pink topping is meant to taste of or is even made of, and quite frankly I think I'm better off not knowing. From now on if a colour doesn't exist in nature, I'm not going to eat it in food.
-
I'll have your blue Smarties then. Cheers, Smurfy! :D
-
I'm baffled by the name. Krispykreme? Donuts are supposed to be squidgy and jammy. If they're crispy - aren't they stale?
-
On my way back from a trip to London I brought a tray of Krispykreme doughnuts (they have a shop at Paddington Station), they are massively overrated and nobody who ate one really enjoyed it. I will stick to bringing Millies cookies and muffins back in future.
-
That's 3 of us then. Only real doughnuts are worthy!

Maybe their cream goes crispy? Yuck!
