Caramets?
-
They're from the 1950s. I want to know what was in a Punch bar.
-
I googled Frys Punch bar and found this :
It was a milk chocolate coating over toffee filling. The bar was long and narrow with an undulating top.

Thank's Lou. That's helpful. I was thinking they may have been a bit more exciting though!
-
I agree. With a name like punch i'd expect something better than choc coated toffee.

How dare you? Sounds remarkably like a Golden Cup!!!

I cannot think of a reply.

Sorry GC. I wasn't thinking of Golden Cup though. I was thinking of it being chewy toffee like a Curly Wurly, only thicker.
With a name like Punch, I kind of expected a fudgey bar with a slight rum flavour or a creamy filling of giner and raisin or something.
Incidently, I think there was also a Fry's Judy Bar but I think it went out of production years before Punch did.

Oh I bet you could!
-
I wasn't thinking of runny caramel neither. I too was thinking along the lines of curlywurly.
-
Hmmmm.....you got out of that one quite well!
-
Hmmmmmmmmmmm was i in a one and needing to get out? ;)
-
Oh yes!
-
Alls well that ends well.
-
They still make Fry's chocolate cream don't they?????!!!!!
-
AFAIK, yes, they do. It's probably one of the only choccies that nearly tastes as good as the old stuff. I think Five Centres bought the farm, though.
-
Back in 1992 sadly. You can still get the peppermint and orange varieties.
