Title: The Apprentice (a bit late I know)
Post by: Cherry_Ripe on June 17, 2009, 01:56:03 pm
Sorry if this has already been discussed, but what did people think of the final of the Apprentice when the candidates had to invent and market a new box of chocolates? Would you have bought either of their selections?

Cherry you are first to mention the last series of the Apprentice. I liked the look of Kates teams chocs with the three drawers and would have probably bought them. Yasminas looked scary flavours and I didn't think the box was very nice.

I think Kate would have stood a better chance if she had priced her chocolates lower. Yasmina's flavours were weird and nobody seemed to like them but she did have a more reasonable price. I thought she made a mistake with the strawberry and basil, surely strawberry and mint would be nicer tasting but still unusual?

I thought it was an interesting task, didn't see all the episode so don't know which company was 'helping out' (although they did have plenty of Prestat products at one point).
I agree Kate's looked more interesting a product and the price could have been resolved quite easily. Sir Alan seems to switch between the 'real world' and the 'apprentice game world' whenever it suits him - that whole bit about needing to establish a brand before setting high prices makes no sense if the product is marketed off the back of the apprentice but does if the whole apprentice process is just a game (which of course it is :) ).
