Post by: oldspice on February 27, 2009, 09:39:34 am
Sad to hear of Wendy's death yesterday. By all accounts she expereinced great sadness in her life. I hope she finds peace in her eternal rest.

I was shocked when I heard she had cancer.  Very sad indeed.  I used to watch her in Are You Being Served? and Eastenders (when it was good).  RIP.

Aye, they drop like flies. Celeb deaths are like buses, you wait ages for a one and then three come along at once. I wonder who is next...

Gardener, broadcaster and writer Geoffrey Smith has died aged 80.

He appeared on BBC Radio 4's Gardeners' Question Time for 20 years and created one of the great gardens of northern England - Harrogate's Harlow Carr.

This calls for a game of "Body Bag Bingo" where we all pick any 15 celebs who are about to kark it.

How to play, we need a list of the top 100 oldest people or list of top people who are in ill health, you grab a regular bingo card and they are your numbers and start ticking them off.

The winner is the first to 15.

BTW the game can last for years!

At least the Whitehouse did us a favour and died.  Still, we've got tossers like Keith Vaz these days.

Lou beale could be next!
Did you see her at Wendy's funeral?
Strangely, I learned by googling that Anna Wing had a son called Mark Wing-Davey!
If you don't know the name, he was the original Zaphod Beeblebrox in H2G2.

I never knew that but seeing pictures of both, I see the resemblance.

Well Lou Beale is but Anna Wing isn't.  Never knew the HHG connection and ZB was one of my favourite characters - thanks for that little gem Paulham!

Sir Norman Wisdom ! even...

http://www.normanwisdom.com/ (http://www.normanwisdom.com/)

Norman Wisdom is a rare breed of comic like Tommy Cooper who with just one look could have an entire theatre in stitches over nothing.
