I refer of course to BBC3's Naked series. Yesterday it was the turn of five nurses who went through a series of team building and confidence boosting exercises before doing a Burlesque 'striptease.' If ever there was a televisual experience designed as a cure for prapism, this was it. These were not like the nubile 18 yr-old student nurses I pass on the way to work each morning but a motley collection of flabby pizza munchers. Come on BBC and give us what it says on the tin!

TV has been like this for more years than I can remember.
What is cable up to now? 1000 channels yet? 1000 channels of utter crap and most of it american crap shows. The amount of "Quality" programming that is shoved in to the average home fell dramatically when we went from 5 channels to a 99 channels when cable and satilite started up and now we are able to recieve more than a thousand channels.
I used to have Sky through cable and what ticked me off the most was I was paying premium rate money and being bombarded with adverts. This company for years has taken the urinals out of people, they make billions in profit from advertising alone and billions more from forcing people to pay for their channels to then get brainwashed every 5 minutes with adverts.
TV has gone from a straight no interuptions 30minutes get it out of the way job to lets make a 30 minute program last an hour job... And Gordon Brownie points dergulated advertising, so adverts trippled, in an hour program, you can expect an advert or three every 10 minutes. each batch of adverts lasts 5 minutes so that about 30 minutes adverts to 30 minutes of programming.
I am just glad I pulled my head out the idiot tube before my brain got completely sucked dry.
An intresting experiment for people here would be to go without TV for a whole month and see how you can change your lifes and get in to doing other stuff that intresting to you and not have your brains sucked by TV.
Me... I got in to programming but more recently I am intrested in inventing and prototyping, how about you?

I only watch a few programs - Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, Being Human, Doctor Who, Sarah Jane Adventures and, er, I think that's it.
I don't watch Heroes anymore as it became crap.

I am amazed at the depths to which TV producers will plunge. As an example, ITV2 is currently running a trailer for a programme called Paris Hilton's British Best Friend. She is actually begging for a best friend this side of the pond. Not only that, but 12,000 people were sad enough to apply for the pleasure of palling up with this vain, shallow, pointless person. In order to be her best friend, and stay her best friend, they apparently have to parade the 'right' hairstyle and enjoy such stimulating past-times as buying shoes and handbags and talking about buying shoes and handbags. If it wasn't all so tragic, it might very well make me sick.

I watch a total of about five programmes now - Eggheads, EastEnders, Being Human, Grownups and the Antiques Roadshow! A strange mixture now I come to think about it....
I agree that most of the stuff on the hundreds of channels we receive is absolute rubbish.

Having just seen American TV, i am amazed they watch it at all.
5 lots of adverts in a 20 minute episode of Family Guy. One straight after the credits at the start!

I seen one of the contestants had to go to hospital to have her appendix removed then she was sent home . I think she had a lucky escape. No one could pay me enough to be friends with that airhead Paris.

well, seeing as people ar 'biggin up' their fave shows, its my turn - the only things i make a point to watch are 24, Prison Break, Family Guy, Nip/Tuck and Lost. i really avoid anything british, these days. i find british drama so depressing and dull, and british comedy painful.

House! saying that the I can;t remember the last good UK comedy!
-
I like Skins! Is that a bad thing?
-
I forgot about Family Guy - I like that too.

Did anyone see that sitcom 'The Life of Riley' with Caroline Quentin? It was embarrassing. I'm seriously considering writing and asking for a reduction in my licence fee.
