Nope, not going to happen. The only way you would get me in to a cinema to watch that film would be to tazer me...

i usually do the rounds at the cinema this time of year - because i always watch the oscars and like to know which ones to root for and all that. (which is on sky movies premiere, next sunday night, if anyone's interested.)

but, alas, Slumdog has eluded me thus far. keep meaning to go, but something else always crops up.

in my humble opinion, the best oscar movie this year is easily The Wrestler. if mickey rourke doesn't win best actor for it there's just no justice in the world.

Must be good fun going to the cinema with a tazered person who cannot lift their hand into the popcorn.

I haven't seen it and have heard mixed reports from friends who have.  I gather it's quite violent to start with.  Might wait for the DVD.

seen it and really enjoyed it! I was a bit sceptical that the guy from 'Skins' could deliver such a bigged up performance but he was actually very good.

I've seen it and thought it was absolutely brilliant. There is some disturbing violence at the start of the film but it's tame compared to some films. I would definitely recommend seeing the film in the cinema as the big screen adds so much to the viewing experience of this film.

Does it involve handcuffs, whips and chains?

well, now the hype has died down i decided to go see Slumdog today. and wow, what a movie! worth the hype? hmm... probably not, but it's still a damn fine flick. i think danny boyle deserved his 'best director' awards, but maybe not quite 'best film'.

but what was the deal with the 'bollywood' dance routine with the credits at the end? to me, it was like having a dance number at the end of Schindlers List. a tad odd.

I thought that routine at the end was naff too. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it embarrassed the hell out of me.

yeah, it was mighty strange. you could tell everyone in the audience was shuffling around and deciding whether to leave or not. in the end, surprisingly, everybody stayed until it was all over.

It's never over til the fat lady sings and there's no popcorn left.

I like crisps when I'm watching a movie but our cinema doesn't sell them and won't let you take your own food in.

our cinema doesn't like you taking in your own stuff - i always smuggle it through in the gf's handbag. i would never pay cinema prices for munchies!

Our cinema sells hotdogs and nachos with cheese sauce that smells like baby vomit.

When I went to the cinema fairly recently (first time in ages) I couldn't believe it - people were in there stuffing pizzas, burgers and chips and nobody seemed to mind (except me of course).

It annoys the hell out of me, its the main reason I stopped going. You want to watch a movie, not hear the constant background noise of people eating and stuff and then the smell is off putting too.

one of those places which were lots of fun before dvd piracy ruined it.
