Who's been watching? I have to agree with those two girl bands beeing in the bottom two last night and either of them could quite easily have been voted off. I think the ones who stayed will go next week.
Alexandra to win.
-
I like the little blonde boy and the dark boy with bushy hair. They've got good voices and it's time we had some youngsters back in the music business (like Donny and Michael years ago!).

I'm keen to see "Britain’s Got The Pop Factor And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice"

I'm a big Peter Kay fan.

What a load of crap!
If he geniunely thought that was funny then it is the first nail in his coffin regarding his comedy career.
It difficult to distinguish that from the real thing at times, albeit that the real thing is unintentionally amusing. Profanity before the watershed was uncalled for and then Cat Deeley's outburst was just cringeworthy!
The second half just seemed to drag on and on.
Sorry Peter, it just won't ding-dang do.

I didn't think the girl bands deserved to be in the bottom two - I think they probably suffered from a split vote (i.e. fans of girl groups picked the one they liked best, and there weren't enough votes to support two acts).
Am I the only one who thinks it's grossly unfair that last year Emily was thrown out for an alleged (and I emphasise alleged) happy slapping, yet this year an ex-con with a drug problem is given unconditional support?
-
It does sound like double standards. I treally hate it when a candidate goes to an audition and gives the judges a sob stroy. It's so corny and emabarrassing.
-
I don't like that Rachels attitude. Why should the public feel sorry for someone who has been in prison and had her kids taken into care?
-
I know it's unkind, but I can't help feeling the same Lou. Also, she says she's doing this for her kids, but how can it be good for her kids if she wins? They'll never see her! All they'll get is a ton of material things. I bet they'd be much happier with just her undivided attention.
-
Rachel's voice is phenomenal. I think allowing the public to vote is spoiling the show. It should be left to the judges. Daniel should be out by now; he's a lovely guy but he's a pub singer. He murdered One day in your life.
-
Daniel only got through because of his story. Yes, it's desperately sad that his wife died in childbirth, but the harsh truth is that doesn't make him any more talented. Would he honestly be there if his wife was still alive?
-
Yay i was right, Girl band were voted off.
-
Has this been fixed for Laura to win? She has been secretly dating the X Factor boss for months. He is a millionaire and very close friend of simon cowell. We shall see.
-
and today I read Alexandras friend Joss Stone and close friend of the family Stevie Wonder are giving her tips.
-
The results are based on the public's vote, who got it right last night, so it's impossible to fix. ITV would be closed down if they did.
Last night Rachel was a show stopper, her voice is extraordinary and her performance was that of a professional. The next Shirley Bassey?
Everyone else is in a different league. Laura peaked too soon if you ask me. I think Alexandra is very good and so is the 17 year old girl whose name escapes me. Eioghan will take some beating but I think he will have a great career and not win X Factor. Daniel rightly went through on the sing off but how long can he hang on for?
-
Last week they gave out the wrong number for Ruth so people were unable to vote for her, hence she ended up in bottom 2.
-
I wasn't aware of that. Pathetic.

But how would anyone know it had been fixed? It wouldn't necessarily come out.
I think Daniel should have gone. He's a better than average singer, but you need more than 'better than average' to win it. He'd never have a pop career.
-
I agree. Daniel would be good to get up at a wedding or birthday party but i wouldn't buy his records.
-
I'm half expecting him to sing 'Honey' by Bobby Goldsboro next week.
-
Haha very good. I've been reading about when his first wife was pregnant and he got his girlfriend pregnant at the same time . Whoops. He has two 15 yr old kids with only 4 months seperating them.
-
I'm half expecting him to sing 'Honey' by Bobby Goldsboro next week.
I know it's not a very gracious or generous thing to do, but on Saturday, I couldn't help thinking how much more mileage he could squeeze from his wife's sad death. Even Louis was in tears!
-
I'm amazed at how much information people share about their private lives on tv just for the sympathy vote.
-
I think you're all being unkind, although he isn't good enough as a singer to be in the competition, but obviously gets enough of the public 'who like that sort of thing' to vote for him.
Smurfboy, what are you talking about? If ITV did try to keep a fix quiet, do you really think they would risk certain closure/astronomical fine? After, the last debacle with phone votes being mishandled the authorities and probably the government would lynch them.
-
I'm not saying that it IS a fix - just that it's far from impossible. Surely the phone-in scandals of the past few years prove that?
-
I agree with smurfy. How would we find out if it was fixed. I believe the winner has been decided from the start. simon cowell knows who he will want to win and work with.
-
If I was Cowell I would try to shag all the women contestants and the best one would win.
-
Isn't that how Leona Lewis won?
-
Maybe, I wasn't watching it then. Rachel shouldn't have been in the sing off last night, Daniel should have gone. Rachel wasn't singing in the genre, which showcases her talent. She will do better next week.
-
Eoghann should have gone. All i can say about Rachel is ..........butch monster.
-
Daniel got through on the sympathy vote yet again. He'll probably make the top five on it then go out.
-
I wish Daniel would lose that ridiculous ear stud and the hair dye.
-
Leona Lewis now says she wants to follow in the footsteps of Anjelina Jolie and adopt some African kids. Don't these celebs ever fancy adopting a kid in this country?
-
An African child is like an accessory to some celebrities - 'this season's must-have'. They don't want to adopt in this country because it's very hard to adopt a baby here; they don't want a child who's been in and out of care. That doesn't fit the A-List image, does it?
-
I'd adopt a yellow kid to match my new bag.
-
i want either ruth or diana to win. they have something a little different in their voices i can't quite place. the rest are just generic.
-
I like them too; although I find Diana's doe-eyed routine a bit too much. When she did 'Smile' a couple of weeks back they had her done up like one of those crying clown dolls you can buy from the Sunday supplements in 36 easy installments.
-
we were kinda rooting for austin in this household. mainly because we used to watch that other tv show he was on. anyone else catch it a year or two ago? Boys Will Be Girls... he played a fairly convincing girl.
-
Diana looks like a girl in one of my stories.
Rachel's voice is anything but generic.
-
Diana looks like a girl in one of my stories.
I bet she does.
-
as for rachel - there's always a soul-diva type singer just like her in these shows who everyone raves about. it's just nothing that different or original, as far as i'm concerned.
-
Diana looks like a girl in one of my stories.
I bet she does.
Does she look like a boy in your other stories then?
-
Get Rachel out.
-
Diana looks like a girl in one of my stories.
Don't play with semantics with me!
I bet she does.
Does she look like a boy in your other stories then?

The great British public got it wrong again last night. There's no way Ruth should have been in the sing off and was arguably the strongest on the night. Daniel was a bit better but only a bit but should still go. Rachel had a nightmare of a night but is still to my mind a fantastic vocalist, but needs to have a big song. Laura peaked too early and was probably slightly unlucky last night but was on thin ice. Eioghan and the guys are going strong. Alexandra I thought had a week performance but will be there in the shake-up. I hope sweetie pie Diana gets better quick.
-
I thought Rachel picked completely the wrong song, but actually did really well with it. She'd have been better with something like 'Through the Rain'. 'Open Arms' was ideal for Daniel as it's originally a Journey song, and was written for a male vocal, but he still wasn't good enough. It happens every year; there's someone a couple of the judges don't like and they get the sympathy vote.
-
Eioghan is my absolute favourite. He has a wonderful voice, incredible confidence and presence for his age but absolutely no arrogance.
Ruth is fantastic too. I'm not bothered about the rest. I really liked JLS to start with but they've turned into every other boy band we've seen a dozen times before and I'm bored with all that.
-
I'm pleased to see the back of Laura and loved the look on her face when her name was called out as the one to go. Disappointed not to see Diana last night.
-
Eioghan is my absolute favourite.
One of my friends has christened him Eggnog :D
-
Shave his head.
-
He'd look like a newborn chick with no hair.
-
Oh bless him! He's a little love with the voice of an angel. He brings out the mother in me.
-
That's the last we will see of Daniel then.
Eoghann was really good tonight.
-
I think the voting was fair. Daniel was the weakest and I totally cringed when he perved his way through that Tom Jones' song.
I am not keen on Rachel. Her voice is very good but her personal is a bit like Daniel's - "Poor little old me, what an 'ard time I've 'ad".
All of the other performers were great - although I wasn't keen on JLS again. What has Louie done to them??
-
That annoys me about Rachel too. Why does she 'deserve a break' for taking drugs, breaking the law and getting her kids taken into care?
-
Latest x factor news:
Rachels brother has been up in court this week for murder .
Alexandra appeared on Star For A Night when she was 12 , she sang with her mate Joss Stone.
-
Alexandra was fantastic. What a voice.
-
She is very attractive too. Every week she is good.
-
So Rachel's gone... who do we reckon will win? My money's on Diana or Eggnog, even though neither of them deserve it.
-
I didn't think Diana was good last night. I am pleased Rachel has gone. I didn't really have a fave last night but was surprised that Eoghann didn't irritate me. Although i still want to shave his head.
-
I have a soft spot for Ruth. There's something different about her.
-
I am glad Rachel's gone. She did have a good voice but didn't impress me on Saturday night and I am fed up with her sob stories.
Ruth and Alexandra are fantastic. Diana is sweet but I don't like her voice. It's a bit freaky. JLS have gone to seed, I'm sad to say. They were so promising to start with but Louis has turned them into a middle-of-the-raod boy band.
My money's on Eggnog. He's got the best voice and a brilliant attitude.
-
I have a hard spot for Ruth.
-
I should have seen that one coming.
Oh god, I've just made it worse!
-
Indeed! But Diana is the best, in my version of the show called The Perv-factor.
-
sooooooo glad rachel is finally history.
ruth and diana in the final, please!
-
Yes, in a younger-older girl lesbian floor show!
-
The Lez Factor - I can see Sky One going for that...
-
I disagree with Ruth going before Eggnog.
-
Me too. The judges act like indulgent grandparents with him; the truth is his voice is pretty average and he's not a great performer.
-
He makes me cringe.
-
Ruth should never have gone out. If it wasn't for Alexandra, I wouldn't watch again. She has to win. Diana is still top for her naughty-but-nice appeal.
-
I'm getting a little bored of Diana now with her Sandie Shaw impression. (That's singing barefoot for you young uns)
-
I didn't see it last night but I can't believe Ruth was voted out. She's got a fantastic voice.
Our local paper has been urging us all to vote for JLS (one of them comes from Peterborough) but I don't think they are good enough to win.
I really like eggnog and think he is good enough for the final.

Alexandra is definitely the most talented singer yet, but I'm not sure they're doing a good job of selling her as an overall 'package'. You can tell Simon Cowell thinks Diana is more marketable.
-
I hope Eoghann goes next week and Alex to win.
-
I'm shocked Diana went; I really thought it was the end for Eggnog. I think it's massivelt improved Alexandra's chances though.
-
Alexandra has been streets ahead for weeks if I'm honest, although I still think Rachel should be there instead of Edghog. Diana was very sweet and it was sad to see her go.
-
Sorry, but i think Eggnog is much better than Rachel in several respects. Firstly, he has such a good attitude and a positive presence. he is a much better role model to young people than rachel could ever be and he has a fantastic voice with a great range to draw on. Having said all that, I didn't like the songs he chose last night.
JLS were MUCH better last night and worthy of the final. Alexandra, as ever, was fantastic and Diana was very good too. She's very original, I think, but has not performed consistently weel over the weeks.
-
I bet she's really sweet. *drools*
-
Alexandra has been streets ahead for weeks
I think you're probably right in terms of the quality of her performances, but for me she's only just comoing together as a 'package'.
-
Much as I am not keen on Eggnog he is way better than Rachel.
-
2 weeks in a row both of my favbes have gone. SIGH! i guess i'll be rooting for alex next week.
-
Yes, but you can't put Diana and Ruth in the same catergory babe-wise. Ruth is a real vixen who would be shown a seriously good time. Diana is more someone I'd take home and cook for (and maybe GDO.)
-
well done alex. far and away the best vocalist this year.
-
Who was it who started this thread on 12th October and predicted Alex would win?
Oh yeah it was me :)
-
i would have bet my house on Austin when it all started... how wrong i was!
-
I think the result was very fair. I was gunning for Eggnog, but there is no way he could touch Alexandra performance-wise. Again, JLS were better than Eggnog on the night. I am pleased with the outcome because I think it fairly reflects the talents of each finalist.
-

Well done Lou!!
-
Thanks GC. If only I had put money on it.
-
so who likes Alex's version of Hallelujah?
-
She sings it well but I'm sick of hearing the song already. They were just saying on the radio it seems like the most covered song ever ... even Kermit the Frog did a version!
-
i prefer the rufus wainwright version, personally.
-
I think Alex's version is a winner!
