Chocolatier Thorntons has cracked open the world's biggest box of chocolates during a shopping event in Leeds city centre.
Crowds gathered for the opening of the 16ft high, two-tonne box of Moments chocolates, just yards from the flagship Harvey Nichols store.
Scores of youngsters battled their way to the front of the queue as some of the 250,000 chocolates spilled out on to the street.
The first to dive in was local radio presenter Jojo, who said: "I just can't believe it. I'm swimming in chocolates.
"Everyone's just digging in. I've never seen so much chocolate in my life".
The world record-breaking box was made in London and was first unveiled in the capital in April.
Sarah Bates, Thorntons brand manager, said: "We are thrilled to unveil the box right here in Leeds, recently acknowledged as the friendliest city in the north of England."

I wonder if anyone went armed with an empty carrier bag or two? :D
-
I wouldn't want the ones the kids have stood on.
-
I was thinking exactly that, but then I thought they might have been standing there when the box eas opened?
-
I want the ones in the box.
-
Who wants the man standing next to the box with his cane?
-
He does look quite nice doesn't he?
-
"He's a very nice man!"
-
He may look nice but I bet he is a grumpy old fart with no teeth .
