Title: Quality Street choccy birthday cake
Post by: kevvosa on February 26, 2005, 06:39:43 pm
Anyone seen this? Saw it in Morrisons. About 7 quid for a chocolate
cake with a little plastic pot on top of it containing a handfull of
Quality Street. Pointless!

I like that idea salsa. A big choc cake with QS all over it would be heaven.

you could warm the cake slightly, so you can really jam them in there.

What do you think? Pathetic attempt or what. There's a Smarties cake
too and with that at least the Smarties are embedded into the icing.

Thorntons do a nice cake with a nest of chocs on top. The thing about the Quality Street one is that the wrappers are left on and the sweets dumped in aplastic container on top of the cake. It's rather pointless and a bit cheap-looking.

Nestlé seem to count on things like that. I don't understand why.

God, you could buy a cake for a couple of quid and bung a dish of chocolates on top of it if that's all they're going to do!

The Thorntons cakes are lovely. Covered in great chocolate, its not buttercream...its like a thin layer of real chocolate. And if it is your birthday I think you are intitled to eat all the thorntons chocolates off the top.
