I'm going to see her in concert in October!  ;D Woohoo! At the Albert Hall, no less.

Not a particularly relevant thread I know, but everyone else I've told has said 'who?' Philistines.

Joan Baez has the most wonderful voice. I saw her 24 years ago at the Glastonbury Festival. I've always loved her music. I hope you enjoy yourself Smufy. i must say, for a young'un, you have excellent taste. Didn't you also see Barbara Streisand?

I did indeed go and see Barbra Streisand, which cost me an absolute fortune, but was worth every penny. Joanie is a very reasonable £32 a ticket. I'm taking my Dad as a Father's Day pressie as he's had a bad time healthwise lately.

Lou, are you serious? I thought you were joking when you said you didn't know who she was. Surely you've heard her beautiful songs 'We shall Overcome' and 'There but for Fortune'.  She was once a lover of Bob Dylan and recorded a lot of his songs. It was for him she wrote the song 'Diamonds and Rust'.

Of course they do - it's just some people have good taste, some bad.
