Title: Creme Egg Twisted
Post by: chocadmin on January 23, 2008, 08:16:03 pm
Not due till after easter but definitely sounds good.
Cross between spira and creme egg perhaps?

About time Cadbury came up with something interesting (and that isn't 'dairy milk').

Sounds OK but you have a job to find any fondant in a Cadbury Creme Egg bar. Still, I shouldn't knock it till I've tried it.

Old Spice is right - there is a heck of a lot higher ratio of chocolate to filling in the Dairy Milk with Creme Egg bar. But I am rather excited by the prospect of this Creme Egg Twisted. Picturing it in my head, I reckon that unless it has a really small radius, the ratio of chocolate to filling should be lower, and it should be more like eating a long creme egg! I love twisted bars in general (flakes, spiras, galaxy ripples etc.) so this one is quite appealing.

I love cream eggs, but didn't like the cream egg bar. As Old Spice said there was not enough filling.
I'll try the new twisty version because I love cream eggs, but after the bar I'm not getting too excited until I've tried it.

This thread seems to have lost a few pages ??? But anyhoo, I tried one of these and agree with what Jim said a couple of weeks back - very nice tasting, but basically almost exactly the same as a CDM Creme Egg bar. From the description I thought it would be like a Spira with creme egg shot through it.

Not tried the bar and not really into Cadburys.  However, I find the CE Twisted quite pleasantly unusual.

What? Do you mean the way it looks?

Yes, but also the texture of the twistiness.  The taste of course is pretty naff.

The texture of the twistiness!?

That could be their new advetising slogan. The texture is in the twistiness.

Where is the twistiness, though?

Dunno, I've not had one.

I had one today - from Woolworths. I was very impressed. Thick chocolate and LOADS of filling! I would go as far as to say that they are almost too much for one sitting and if I hadn't been afraid of the fondant leaking out into my bag I would have saved one half for later!

I still haven't seen one.  Perhaps they're still working their way down the country.

Took me a while to find them too. Woolies came through in the end, why is it supermarkets are so slow to get new countline products in?

Tesco and Sainsburys have them.

My Tesco's might, my sainsburys hasn't, I'm pretty sure my Asda has. Oh to be in London where we don't have to wait so long for new stuff to appear ;)

I've tried Sainsbury's and Woolies to no avail.  Looks like I'll have to go to Tesco or Asda.  I don't think I can face either of those on a Sunday.

When you get one, I hope you think it has been worth the hassle.

I was inspired by Oldspice's opinion of them!

They should have just had a massive launch for the Orange Creme egg over here instead of the 'Twisted'

Well I had my first Creme Egg Twisted yesterday (at last my local Sainsburys stocked them).  Very nice and I thought it was about the right size.  Certainly not big enough to save some for later!

And some of us have those things, what do you call them.. lives! And these life things sometimes get in the way of remembering every single obscure chocolate product we've ever heard of.

Pah! You call yourselves chocolate lovers.
Some on here know more about the minutiae of soap operas than they do chocolate.
I remember when there used to be hardcore chocolate fans here.
*Sigh*
You just can't get the staff anymore.
