[ Cadbury Trebor Bassett (CTB), the UK's no.1 confectionery manufacturer, announces the eagerly anticipated return of Cadbury Creme Egg.
The 2008 Easter season is much shorter than last year so the high impact nature of the advertising and supporting spend should ensure there is major interest in the brand right from 1 January, which is why it is so important that our customers have a great display ready for their shoppers in the New Year.
The new campaign, supported by a 4.5million spend sees a quirky new series of TV ads with the punchline Here Today, Goo Tomorrow. Launching on 1 January across TV, outdoor and online, the campaign will ensure retailers benefit from a fast-start to the 2008 Easter season, which is two weeks shorter than last year. ]
My heart bleeds for them!
[For the first time, the adverts see the egg starring as a character in its own right. Approximately 20 different 10 and 20 second ads will be produced, each showing the egg on an amusing mission trying to release its goo. They have been designed to communicate the lighthearted and playful nature of the brand whilst also highlighting what makes Cadbury Creme Egg so distinctive, the goo in the centre. ]
I am surprised they didn't go with the strapline,
"Why don't you Polish one off?"
So, the Easter season starts on January 1st. What next, Christmas 2008 starting on Easter Monday?
Enough of this madness!
Yes, I bought one 3 weeks ago.
Their cunning ploy is in tatters now.

Might be good if it had a little hook on so it could be hung on a christmas tree.
I've heard a rumour you have 250g bars of CDM caramel hanging from your tree as decorations!
