Concert of the decade - and I went last night!
It cost me 215 quid, but it was worth every penny. I've never experienced anything like it and if it hadn't pretty much maxed out my credit card, I'd seriously consider going again on Wednesday.
-
I do envy you Smurfy. She has an incredible voice. It's a once in a lifetime experience.
-
Wish I could go to the concert Smurfboy. Sounds like you had fun
-
im soooooooooo jealous , must of been fantastic atmosphere
-
She has an amazing voice. One of the all time great female entertainers of our time. Up there with the likes of Shirley Bassey and Ella Fitzgerald.
-
I agree about Ella Fitzgerald but I can't stand Shirley Bassey.
-
am i the only one here who can't stand barbra streisand?
-
If you're the President of the club, WJP666, I'll be your VP.
-
am i the only one here who can't stand barbra streisand?
I'll join you.
-
yay! i stand not alone!
-
People tend to love her or hate her.
-
she's very big in the male gay community too - something i've never been able tpo work out.
-
Maybe because you're not a gay male?

Each to their own, but I must admit I find it a bit worrying that you hate Barbra Streisand but said a couple of weeks ago you don't hate BERNARD MANNING!
-
That's a very interesting observation Smurfy. I'm dying to hear his answer!
-
i've always found her annoying. i think this may have stemmed from being forced to watch Funny Girl at a young age (and that god-awful sequel). she also did her best to ruin Meet The Fockers. the way she speaks irritates me... and i'm just not a fan of her singing voice. it doesn't go much deeper than that.
(as for mr. manning - i was just simply saying that the main reason people hated him (for being a racist, bigoted comic) was 99% a character act, and not accurately refelctive of the real person.)

did she sing the No1 1980 song
woman in Love
also I like Mr meaning
-
Yes, she did sing A Woman in Love but unfortunately she asked the Bee Gees to acompany her. Not one of her best songs.
I think she's stunningly beautiful. Did anyone see Yentle (I'm sure there should be an h in there somewhere). She really is a fantastic actress and a beautiful singer.
-
Yentl. She sang 'Papa Can You Hear Me?' at the concert and that was the highlight for me - it was just amazing. To be able to sing a song that difficult at 65 and not miss a note is incredible.
-
Thanks Smurfy - I just could not remember that spelling! How moving that song must have been live. Did she sing The Way We Were?
-
She did. It was a shame as my sister was supposed to come and she couldn't at the last minute, and that song is her favourite - she'd have loved it.
