The lyrics make more sense in context.

and I noticed something very strange indeed
So I looked a little closer
and it chilled me to the bone
"Woman throws herself from speeding train,
identity unknown"
But I recognized the picture of the woman who was dead
and underneath the picture it said

 It took me ages to remember the name of the artist who did this song. But finally, without looking it up anywhere honestly, I came up with... Godley and Creme.

I think that's right.

Yes, they were originally in 10cc and before that they were in the Mindbenders, a 60s group.

also its about a man getting away form the control of a woman
