If forced to choose, we Brits would take a warm cup of tea over the Queen's Christmas speech.
That's the findings of a new survey on British traditions.
This does not surprise me at all.
-
I'd take the tea every time.
-
If it was hot I'd have the tea, but the Quen's speech would beat warm tea.
-
What a silly comparison. I'm surprised this hasn't made it to the One or T'other thread!
-
Well if it is stone cold tea of the Queens speech i would pick the Queens speech.
-
You could microwave the tea. You can't microwave the Queen's speech.
-
There's a thought.
-
You could even make a fresh cup of tea and throw the cold one on the garden.
-
Cold tea is very good for roses.
-
You could microwave the Queen's speech if you recorded it and put the video in the microwave. I like iced tea if it's got lemon in and plenty of sweeteners.
-
Wouldn't do the video, or the microwave, much good.
-
I've never been a fan of iced tea.
-
Nor me.
-
Milky iced coffee is wonderful though
-
Iced tea is nice in the USA especially when it's 110 degrees outside and 100% humidity.
-
Yes and in the USA they don't suffer the Queens speech.
-
No. They enjoy it!
-
It's better to drink tea than water according to the news yesterday.
-
First there's a survey saying 80% of Britons prefer a cup of tea to the Queens speech then last night I see on tv the Queen wins the greatest Briton award.
-
I got the impression that the survey was about which tradition you would get rid of - if it was a case of never having another cup of tea or never having another Queen's speech, I'm not surprised that the tea won!
-
Did you see the nominations for greatest briton? the queen or robbie williams.
-
Sir Isaac Newton every time!
-
I love Iced Tea with lemon.
-
Sir Isaac Newton every time!

Small problem - the poll was to find the Greatest Living Briton
-
How much of a Briton is the Queen. She's mainly German and God knows what else.
