A while back some of us joined the bring it back Forum but, to be honest, I didn't really like the style and tone of the site so I thought: why not start a bring it back thread so people can post about things (not just chocolate) they'd like to see return? So here goes.
I would like to see the return of:
REAL Oil of Ulay (not the white greasy stuff they make now)
Anne French Cleasing Milk
Jackie Magazine
Rowntrees Greengage Jelly
Tins of loganberries
Hitchman's Dairies Mickey Chocolate Drink
-
JIF! dam French
-
I miss :-
Yardley's Honeysuckle range of perfume and toiletries.
Proper 'Camp' coffee not the coffee flavoured syrup they make these days.
Pineapple flavoured Hi Juice from Tesco.

Rowntrees Greengage Jelly I loved that stuff, and I'd forgotten about it too. How could I have??

People who say 'Thankyou' when you hold a door open for them.
Proper coverage of The Horse Of The Year Show.
The REAL It's A Knockout'. I know the presenters are older than Methuselah, if they're even still alive, but the remake with Keith Chegwin is just not the same.
The Krypton Factor and The Adventure Game.
Tootie Minties. If that's what they were called. LOL
The days when people actually rang you back if they said they would. (I've waited 2 days now for a ring back from BT.)

-
Ooh, I like this one

On the chocolate theme i want to bring back

Wispabites

Secret bars

Coconut boosts
Other things i want back are

Special K that were shaped like little half moons instead of flakes

Tv programmes that were actually good i.e before reality tv

The happiness of childhood innocence

Ok, if we're talking TV i would like to see:
Within These Walls (the Bad Girls of the 60s and 70s with Googie Withers who, alothough she looked like Mrs Thatcher, was the Helen Mirran of her day
I also miss Juliet Bravo, Shine on Harvey Moon and Fresh Fields
-
This thread will run and run! I'd forgotten Ann French Cleansing Milk (those weird shaped white bottles with the purple lids) and I've never heard anybody else complain that Special K used to be a totally different shape (and taste) from now. As for Oil of Ulay though - didn't it used to be made with whale oil?
-
Mint Cracknel...i remember liking this..
Banjos..yummy...
The Sweeny..
Banana Splits..
my mind has now gone blank..

i'll have to think some more on this topic..
-
Bring back Ice Magic! For those of you who are too young, it was a sauce you put on ice cream, which you then put back in the freezer for a few seconds, and it set hard. Luvverly stuff
-
I am not including chocolate or sweets in my thread cos you've heard it all before from me but here's another few things i would like to see back:
Tiny, sweet, seedless grapes from Cypus that you used to buy in the summer (EVERYTHING seedl;ess is the tasteless Thompson ones nowadays)
Real, tasty bread
Proper, fruity,, spicey bread pudding
Pineapple cream finger biscuits
Smock tops
-
I say bring back good manners and common courtesy!
-
Why is this thread sticky?

A while back some of us joined the bring it back Forum but, to be honest, I didn't really like the style and tone of the site
I gave up on it after about a month - they made you feel like dirt half the time. There were only ever about two posts a week because everyone was too on edge to say anything!
-
I know what u mean smurfy.. i only posted a few times they are very picky on there and moan alot about people's grammar and spelling and a couple of them whom i won't mention were so up thier own bottom that they thought they ruled the world
-
So we've got our very own BIB thread!
-
'The Interceptor'
always nice to meet a fellow fan.

-
flipz (choccy pretzels)
You can get these from Cybercandy - they still make them in the US

-
OMG! really?! thanks for that!!!
-
I really enjoyed Challenge Anneka. But I have my doubts that it would even work these days.
I don't think there is the same amount of good feeling, charity or money to spare any more.
It's a shame though. They did some really good work.
-
I'd bring back Pogle's Wood, The Herbs and Super Moose choc bars.
-
The muppet show

Is this the programme where he swoops down laughing in an odd way (he reminded me of a pirate, kind of, lots of har har, and some growly sounding noises) and tries to shoot the target on the people's backs?
Was he Scottish?
If it is I think I saw it on challenge when it was on.
-
yes, he was scottish.
yes, he used to swoop around making eagle-squawking noises.
and yes, he had to shoot targets on backpacks.
an absolutely amazing format for a gameshow that was never marketed correctly.

-
Hey i got it right.
It was great, and he was so nuts. He really made the programme worth watching just to see what he'd do next.
I hope you're right about it being due for another run.
Thanks for the link.

-
twas one of my fave shows EVER. i still have every episode on tape and i was devastated when they cancelled it. i wish they'd bring it back.
-
At least you have your tapes though so you're never without a fix if things get desperate.

If they brought it back do you think the same man would do it or would he be too old now?
And if it had to be a new person who would you pick?
-
the old guy (sean o'kane) still looks good for his age, and he's a professionally trained stuntman so he's in shape for it. i'd love to see him come back.
a new interceptor? hmm... tough one. have to think about that one...
-
And proper sized Creme Eggs!
Yes, proper sized Creme Eggs with the picture of the chick on them.

Chocolate flavoured yogurt
-
Mum took me to Lidl on Tuesday and I bought some yoghurt with chocolate bits in, I don't know if this would be near enough to chocolate flavoured yoghurt for you Annie, or if you have a Lidl near enough for you to go to, but it's very nice stuff.
-
Crappy US sitcoms on all day on Bank Holidays!

Monkey (old TV Show)
-
What about those terrible Aussie soaps like Sons and Daughters and The Young Doctors (one of whom was about 94!).
