Title: Bring it back
Post by: oldspice on March 10, 2007, 06:41:49 pm
A while back some of us joined the bring it back Forum but, to be honest, I didn't really like the style and tone of the site so I thought: why not start a bring it back thread so people can post about things (not just chocolate) they'd like to see  return? So here goes.

I would like to see the return of:

REAL Oil of Ulay (not the white greasy stuff they make now)

Anne French Cleasing Milk

Jackie Magazine

Rowntrees Greengage Jelly

Tins of loganberries

Hitchman's Dairies Mickey Chocolate Drink

I miss :-

Yardley's Honeysuckle range of perfume and toiletries.

Proper 'Camp' coffee not the coffee flavoured syrup they make these days.

Pineapple flavoured Hi Juice from Tesco. Cry

Quote from: oldspice

Rowntrees Greengage Jelly
I loved that stuff, and I'd forgotten about it too. How could I have??LOL

People who say 'Thankyou' when you hold a door open for them.

Proper coverage of The Horse Of The Year Show.

The REAL It's A Knockout'. I know the presenters are older than Methuselah, if they're even still alive, but the remake with Keith Chegwin is just not the same.

The Krypton Factor and The Adventure Game.

Tootie Minties.  If that's what they were called. LOL

The days when people actually rang you back if they said they would. (I've waited 2 days now for a ring back from BT.) Angry

This thread will run and run!  I'd forgotten Ann French Cleansing Milk (those weird shaped white bottles with the purple lids) and I've never heard anybody else complain that Special K used to be a totally different shape (and taste) from now.  As for Oil of Ulay though - didn't it used to be made with whale oil?

Bring back Ice Magic! For those of you who are too young, it was a sauce you put on ice cream, which you then put back in the freezer for a few seconds, and it set hard. Luvverly stuff Tongue

I gave up on it after about a month - they made you feel like dirt half the time. There were only ever about two posts a week because everyone was too on edge to say anything!

I really enjoyed Challenge Anneka. But I have my doubts that it would even work these days.

I don't think there is the same amount of good feeling, charity or money to spare any more.

It's a shame though. They did some really good work.

Is this the programme where he swoops down laughing in an odd way (he reminded me of a pirate, kind of, lots of har har, and some growly sounding noises) and tries to shoot the target on the people's backs?

Was he Scottish?

If it is I think I saw it on challenge when it was on.
Title: Bring it back
Post by: wjp666 on March 19, 2007, 01:10:24 am
yes, he was scottish.

yes, he used to swoop around making eagle-squawking noises.

and yes, he had to shoot targets on backpacks.

an absolutely amazing format for a gameshow that was never marketed correctly.

Hey i got it right. Big%20smile

It was great, and he was so nuts. He really made the programme worth watching just to see what he'd do next.

I hope you're right about it being due for another run.

Thanks for the link. Smile

At least you have your tapes though so you're never without a fix if things get desperate.  Big%20smile

If they brought it back do you think the same man would do it or would he be too old now?

And if it had to be a new person who would you pick?

the old guy (sean o'kane) still looks good for his age, and he's a professionally trained stuntman so he's in shape for it. i'd love to see him come back.

a new interceptor? hmm... tough one. have to think about that one...
