I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles for my gramps.
Both these wonderful people passed away and these songs remind me of them, both happy times and how much I miss them, so it's a bit of a mixed bag.

I agree with Cherry about all of her songs except the Oasis and Beatles ones. If I had to pick a beatles number that moves me it would probably be She is leaving.
Proud by Heather Small does it everytime for me. When my eldest boy left primary school they made a video of the leavers featuring the kids and teachers dancing to that song. it was very personal as it is a small village school and only about 13 were leaving. It made me cry at the time and does when I watch it everytime! It represented going off into the world becoming the best person you can be.
Another song that always touches me is a song by Phil Collins from Face value. (Oh I know, it's probably uncool to like Phil Collins, but what can I say?!?!)

That song was around when I had a painful break up ... and it said it all. Of course I don't feel the same way now... It was a blessing to get shot of the wast of space!!

Dear Prudence reminds me of my first love (who broke my heart) because it was one of the songs a band was playing at the concert when we met. Champagne Supernova just reminds me of my happiest days at University.

Has anyone heard of Johnny Ray? He was a 1950s singer who was given to singing self-indulgent, weepy-type songs, one of which was called Cry.
It was a terrible song, but apparently he used to sob most of the way through it and the audience of (mainly) women would sob and howl! he was a huge heartthrob but to see him you would think he could anyone excited.

It's so weird; I was reading about No Doubt online and it said 'Iris' overtook 'Don't Speak' as the biggest ever radio hit in the US. Having not heard the song for ages, I heard it on the radio in Home Bargains barely an hour later, then came home and read this thread!
