I'm very much in favour of this idea. I wonder if my boss would mind?
i cant sleep in the day, just makes me feel sick when i wake up
Not tired at bedtime? This is an unknown concept to me! I wonder how many hours sleep most of us get/need? I usually go to bed around 1 am and get up at 7 am so it's around six hours' sleep for me but I could definitely do with more. I often have the intention of getting an early night then I start reading, surfing the net, or chatting to people (you know who you are! ) and the time just disappears.

Is it me?
I usually sleep for about 7 hours each night.
I find I don't have time to sleep anymore than 7 hours.
Yes, that's exactly the problem. We need more hours in the day!
I get between 7 and 8 hours of sleep. Usually I go to bed around 10:30pm and I am awake by 5:50am.
how are you supposed to get anything done if you go to bed too early?
I agree with whoever said I wish we had more hours in the day - but I still find plenty of time to do all the necessary things in the evenings and weekends. I would just like more time to do something unneccessary (if you know what I mean) for example a hobby.
Some of my working days are very long. It is not unsusual for me to start at 8am and work through until 9pm. When this happens i am always too tired to eat when I get home but equally I am too 'wired' to sleep right away and have to wind down until about 11.15pm before i can go to bed.
On a normal working day I work from 8am until about 5. I often feel as if I need a nap about 2pm but would not look good nodding off during a lecture or a class!
Power napping is supposed to increase efficiency as well as be beneficial to health so it would be a good idea for work places to think about ways they can help employees relax for a short time during the working day.

I am not disputing this but I think a lot of people would prefer to work through and leave work earlier. Where I work we are supposed to have an hour for lunch but only one person I know actually takes it!
That's so true! No one in our office takes an hour for lunch. If we are lucky we have a sandwich at our desks with lots of interruptions
Most of the jobs I've had have been like that, so I'm still amazed when I have colleagues now who moan like mad if they don't get a 15 minute complete break morning and afternoon (in addition to their one hour for lunch).
Are you looking for an office job kev?
Quote from: loulouAre you looking for an office job kev?
If the pay is good then yes. I might do a course in touch-typing as that can sometimes pay well.
Really? I wish. I was the fastest in the south of England at one time.
A shame it doesn't say why. I only ever have a siesta when I go to bed late and get up early.
Perhaps it is as simple as...... if you are asleep in the afternoon you are not sitting on your bum in front of the telly snacking on the high fat, high sugar foods that cause all these heart attacks and strokes?
I'm sure it's better paid than standard office work?
What was your last job kev?
I'm sure it's better paid than standard office work?
I would have thought it IS standard office work. Everyone I work with can touch type and so can my teenage boys and all their friends. It's expected.
That was until the day I wrote a 7 page report to social services and dropped all those evil ba*ta*ds right in the sh*t.
