Title: Cadbury factory shops
Post by: kevvosa on January 27, 2005, 04:22:29 pm
Has anyone here ever been in a Cadbury factory shop? There's one near
me and I'm very tempted. Do they sell things not normally found in most
shops and do they sell things any cheaper?

Is there one in Brum? It would seem to make sense, but I've never heard of one

There's a factory shop at the Cadburys factory in Brum. It's fancier than the ones around the country as it has a lot more stuff!

I've decided a trip to Cadbury world is in order too.

So have I.  It would make a trip to the Midlands to see my in-laws much more worthwhile.

I went there a few years ago and enjoyed it. It was August bank holiday but it poured with rain. There was plenty to do there and it was all indoors so no problem. At the time they still made Wispas and I bought a box of them, there must have been about 25 Wispas in the box. They didn't last long

Also I bought a Cadbury world sticker for my car but when I got home and opened the packet there was no sticker inside.  Boo hoo.

All in all I enjoyed my visit to Brum, so much chocolate and curry in one place!

Perhaps we should all turn up there together and give them a shock - a Chocolate Review Jolly!

Or failing that, tell them you work for Mars and will give away secrets in exchange for freebies

But what secrets would we make up?

They secretly put drugs into the chocolate tomake people like it?

They arent peanuts in a snickers, they are tiny genetically modified armadillos?

We don't need to actually make up any secrets, because when we get there, we will hold the Cadbury top brass hostage until they agree to re-introduce Fry's Five Centres and the other classic bars of our choice!

You see, to me fry's chocolate sucks. Seriously, I would prefer to get crabs than eat one of those frys cream bars.

Here here. I had a Frys cream bar a while ago and didnt eat the whole bar which is very unusual for me.

Frys Turkish delight is nice though.

At Cadbury World they have small cars in the shape of creme eggs which are painted just like the creme egg wrapper.  They have proper registration numbers so they must be seen driving around the streets of Brum sometimes.

I like the visit to Cadbury World plan, although you don't get as many free bars as you'd think.

Those cars arent really seen driving around birmingham, they are used by cadbury for promotional events, and also things like adverts.

It is cheaper, choc chick, but you have to watch the bb dates.

You can also get things you don't see in the normal shops, such as mis-shapes. I got some mis-shapes, 3 kilo bags for the price of 2. They are fun. At the other outlet shop I went to, the mis-shapes are sold in smaller bags for £1.99 each which to me is dear, especially considering they aren't perfect and you don't know exactly what flavours are inside the bag.

Thanks Cherry Ripe. I make have to make the trip up one day.

They sell the mis shapes in the factory shop near me and I think they are about £2 for a bag. Like you said, they are a bit dear for what they are. They are making a profit out of them anyway!

Where are you, choccy chick? I'm from Cornwall, and I believe the nearest factory shop to me is at Street in Somerset, which is a good few hours drive away. Birmingham is hours and hours and hours and hours and hours..... Needless to say when I go to such a place, I really stock up!

I really must go to Cadbury World - it is only a few stops on the train for me. I've been before but many years ago. Do you have to go on the tour to go to the shop, or can you just walk in off the street, so to speak?

You could just walk in last time I went.
