I started a new post, because the last waifa post kind of veered away from waifas. Anyway...i think i saw a new waifa in my local newsagents today. I didn't get a chance to look properly because it was on the counter and the place was kind of busy, but it was a blue wrapper - spelt waifa - and looked more like a chunky bar?!
-
Hi Bethypoos, i personally haven`t liked the chunky versions of Aeros or Kit-Kats, i like my chocolate biscuits to be flat (
) I still haven`t found a shop selling Waifas, plenty on the net though, maybe there is no demand for them up here
.
-
I liked Chunky KiKats until they changed the chocolate. Now I hate them. My daughter gave me a few squares of the new orange Aero the other day and I have rarely tasted anything as bad. It was indescribable.
-
Waifas have always been chunkier than Kitkats.
-
Slightly chunkier and slightly wider mmmmmmmmmmmmmm lovely,

But when they came out, Kitkat Chunky was made by Nestle anyway wasn't it?
I didn't realise the recipe had changed.
-
wel the turns of boxes of Terry Waifi (BLUE) in the Cash N carrys!
-
Yes Kev, Chunky was made by Nestle and yes, they did change the quality of the chocolate they were using. Even before this, they changed the quality of the chocolate they used on Lion Bar and Toffee Crisp. In fact, not long after Nestle took over Rowntrees, they started coating multi-pack Lion Bars in 'chocolate flavoured coating' until people noticed and started kicking up a stink. They reverted to chocolate but of the lowest quality - and extended the change to regular Lion Bars too.
-
That explains why Lion bars and Toffee Crisps are particularly foul then.
-
toffee crisps.
-
BUT I have said there been CHANGE!!!
there not foul anymore!

I've just eaten a Lion Bar bought from my local shop and it was flippin' gorgeous
-
Each to his own is what I say.
-
I probably have a deeply embedded seedy fetish for cheap nasty fake chocolate, i wouldn't worry.
-
Well, people eat Pot Noodles still so dont worry.
-
waifas
i remember my Granny always had these..i liked the 'red" kind..dark chocolate i think they were..but that was back in the 70's..when did they become obsolete ?
-
They haven't.
-
So erm, why is this in the discontinued section?
-
Ask Bethypoos. Maybe it's because there was already a Waifa thread in this section?
-
I told LION BAR HAVEbeen IMPROVED
-
In what way?
-
look at the lion bar thred- either New/ old products1
-
I told LION BAR HAVEbeen IMPROVED
Why do you keep repeating yourself?
-
Explain>?
-
You created a thread saying you thought Lion Bars had changed, then you mention it twice here. Why keep saying it?
-
Because
No one belives me!
-
People will decide for themselves in the end.
-
It's in the discontinued forum because people hadn't seen waifas for ages - so thought they'd been discontinued. But, I've got a feeling the 4 finger waifa has, and now they've changed it to this chunky waifa, made by Terrys.
-
there ARE<I so them in the cash n carry , like the lion bar all over again1
-
Lets have a chocolate review taste test and find out.
-
And the results are??????????
-
Inconclusive.
-
So erm, why is this in the discontinued section?
Sorry that`s my fault
I couldn`t find any in Glasgow & the local shop-keeper told me they were discontinued, hence the reason i posted this. Apparently there are thousands of them in cash & carry`s so why aren`t they in the shops

Digressing from choc for a brief moment (how dare she) anyone remember the fab original cheese savouries made by Crawfords, half moon shape, very cheesey (taste wise) and came in a Blue packet? Far better than the bland imitation bags we see in popular supamarkets!
