You're in a global market now. You gotta do as the rest of the world says.
Why does the name never globalise into the British name?

They do. The Twix was called Raider across Europe until 1992.
The story behind Snickers/Marathon is this. The product name was actually registered in the UK first, with plans for a worldwide launch within the next few months. Unfortunately while the launch was being planned another brand registered the trademark Marathon in the rest of the world; hence the product became Snickers in the US and Europe.

There's a huge leap between the word Marathon and the word Snickers. I wonder how they came up with it. SOmething to do with sneakers maybe?
To be fair Marathon makes no more sense.
I thought is was a Marathon because of all the energy it gives you? It's more sensible than Mars, IMHO.

Why? It is out of this world!
Does a name really matter?
From the woman who once said she'd stop eating Twixes if they changed the name to Raider?
That's impossible.
It's true, they have become more crunchier.
No they haven't. They have either become crunchier or more crunchy.
Maybe his are crunchier.
His knickers, like.
I think you will find it wasn't me who said "more crunchier" first.
I didn't say it was. Does it make it any better that you copied someone else?
