I prefer to go to the shops and buy a jumper instead.

Well, it's hard to be original these days.

Has anyone noticed the price of wool lately? I'm surprised if anyone still knits but I suppose some people still like to knit for babies.

I knit, and crochet.

I buy general DK for 99p a ball, although it is getting more difficult to find.

Oh, I prefer 10 or 8 knitting needles, 10 for the ribbing. But for crocheting i have 3.50mm hook. Well, I have about 10 dotted aorund the house and will always find one if I need one.

However, must say the blankets I make are lovely. I made one to look like Thomas the tank for my partners lad.

Salsa I really admire you becasue all these skills are dying arts and they are so valuable. I can only knit in straight lines and in plain or pearl so I'm not much use!

My girlfriend does tapestry and that sort of thing.  She and and her friends are a tightly knit community.

Well you're better than me Oldspice - I can cast on and knit plain but that's it.  I can't do pearl or cast off!

To be honest there isn't much to it other than knitting and pearl. I like Cabling because it feels nice as your doing it, but once you have done it once its just like fancy knitting.

My nan taught me when I was a little girl, and I am glad she did because she hasn't the ability to teach me now and im really glad i know. I have shown my boyfriends daughter aswell, i think she has the chance to be a good knitter.

I can cast on, knit plain and pearl, and cast off. That's it. I can't follow a pattern so if you want a scarf or some squares I'm your woman.
