Title: Cadbury snack
Post by: Liloo on August 25, 2006, 01:57:33 pm
Just been looking around cybercandy, my closest shop is in Brighton. I wanted some advice before I spend all himselfs money. Has anyone tried Cadburys Snack? I am quite excited about it, it has fruit centres, yummy. I have heard though that Australian chocolate is just awful, is this true?  x x x

I have tried that bar. Not all the centres are fruit you know, eg. turkish delight. I bought the bigger bar (about 250g) and broke the bar into squares then ate the similar squares together. I found if I just ate the bar as a bar then flavours like the turkish delight overpowered the more subtle ones such as the pineapple.

IMO Australian Cadbury's chocolate is OK but I know there are others on this forum who don't like it! It tastes different because there is no vegetable oil in it. Why don't you try one of the smaller bars at the shop then if you enjoy it you can buy more?

They are quite expensive for what they are. If it were me (and I LOVE fruit creams too) I would go to Thornton's and buy lots of their loose chocolates rather than visit or make an order at Cybercandy.

I am one of the ones on the forum who hates Aussie choc!  But give it a try - each to their own.

I haven't tried it but Lou once famously ate one of these 'online' as it were. (On the old Forum). I don't think she enjoyed it though.

Ive had Australian Dairy Milk and thought it tasted fine. Not as rich as ours in the UK, but passable.

Passable just aint good enough!  I'll eat it when I'm over there but wouldn't dream of bringing any back with me or ordering it specially, with the possible exception of Cherry Ripes.

And to think that so many people COMPLAIN about there being vegetable oils in chocolate. Some folks are never happy.

Aussie Cadbury's chocolate DOES taste different....no doubt about it, but i've found that it only takes a bar or two to adjust to the taste.

Filled varieties such as Snack taste very little different to me but that's probably because the filling taste overpowers the chocolate taste.

I love Snack actually...my second favourite confectionary import

Well done Liloo  I hope you enjoy your chocs. Cybercandy is expensive, it's easy to spend over £50. I've never made it to £84 there though, maybe that's a forum record! Do let us know how your purchases taste. BTW, did you buy any Cherry Ripes?

I believe you can get them from some Australian shops online. I might have some links in my favs for one that carries them if you want me to check.
