Title: Google Earth

Has anyone heard of or does anyone use this? I think it's brilliant! I'm looking for a new flat in Newcastle and all I have to do is type in a postcode, and it zooms in on an aerial view of the flat and the street.

623, I think it's because Scotland doesn't have as many built-up areas. Which is a blessing really!

I love it, I've had it for quite a while and find it totally addictive.  I can see my friend's house in Australia perfectly!

I couldn't even work out how to use it. There does not seem to be a search facility on my version and I can't get out of America.

If you go on the help pages it explains how to search, there should be a small box on the left hand side where you can type words in. I have found that using postcodes is best.

No, I didn't pay for mine.  It does take a bit of practice to search successfully.

I love google earth!

My son is off to Santa Barbara America on 15 August on an exchange programme with his football team. I have put in the address of the family he is staying with and you can see the house, garden, swimming pool... amazing!

Sadly he will come back with delusions of grandure.... it looks their garage is bigger than our entire plot!!

I've used it for a while and think it is great but it is about 3 years out of date. It still has my Omega parked outside my house and I got rid of that car about 3 yrs ago. When I try to look at my Parents house up north it is just a blur... maybe because the village they live in is full of boozers!

Bits of it are more up to date than others - it just depends where you're looking.  My sister moved house recently and it already shows her car sitting on the drive.

I thought it was 'live' but it sounds as though it updates as and when it feels the need or the images become available.
