I have my Lakeland egg timer thingy that you chuck in with the eggs - that's brilliant too.

How does the lakeland timer know when the eggs are boiled?

Soft, medium or hard – how do you like yours? Egg Perfect always lives up to its name.

By sensing the amount of heat that each egg is taking up, you can have several in the same pan and cook them for different lengths of time... All you have to do is look out for the moment Egg Perfect changes colour!

This is the foolproof solution for family members who have varying ‘eggspectations‘.

how about a toaster that actually pops up at the correct time, rather than 'floppy-bread' or 'incineration' modes.

I've given up with toasters and prefer to use the grill.

Funny how I stumble over these posts. I agree with GC. It's always in boiling water so will be sterile unless the egg cracks and splirts out.
