Title: Deleted scenes
Post by: smurfboy on July 07, 2006, 04:38:33 pm

These seem to appear on every DVD - but how often are they actually worth watching, and how often do you think 'yes, I can see why that was deleted'?

It's usually the latter for me, but I've just got series 2 of Peep Show on DVD and some of the deleted scenes were really good.

I think they are great. I have a Mrs Doubtfire DVD and the deleted scenes are hilarious, but obvious as to why they were cut out.

if you watch the deleted scenes on some films (bruce almighty springs to mind), you can see a completely different movie taking shape. wjp66638905.7399074074

I have never watched any extra's on a DVD... but then I only just know how to get the thing to play the film never mind anything else

I think I am becoming a technophobe in my old age

I agree! I was the deleted scenes from Love Actually and they were going to have the younger boy as a druggie! Would have been a very different film then!

Sometimes I think they add the deleted scenes so they can say 'includes bonus material'

I think Love Actually should have been entirely deleted scenes!

I would rather watch outtakes (bloopers) than deleted scenes on DVDs. Most of my DVDs are TV shows rather than films though.

Deleted scenes are usually fun as they are more graphic and often quite ridiculous - hence amusing.

I don't find that to be so. Surely if they were so amusing they would not have been deleted. I usually find deleted scenes more rambling.
